Garmin Express hangs on opening MacBook

I can't get Garmin Express to open and register my Edge 800. It works on my wife's Mac Book Air but not on my MacBook Pro. I have upgraded to El Capitan. Removed all previous G Exp folders and tried reinstalling using both Safari and Firefox. After downloading G Exp I click on the teardrop icon and then a rectanglar icon opens but just hangs on the screen. I have 25 gb of disc space and 2gb of ram. Patience is wearing thin. Please help.
  • Also, I uninstalled and removed the Garmin Express plist files and re-installed...

Running the latest version, reinstalled with removed plists...

Please do not post Mac logs in the threads. These files clutter the forum post and we normally use our own logs when examining a problem. If we do need these Hang logs, we ask that you submit them as an attachment to an email when contacting ">Product Support">Product Support by phone or email.

We need to try uninstalling and reinstalling the program once more because more than just the base program and its plist files need to be removed. Please try the steps in the FAQ, "">How do I completely uninstall Garmin Express?">How do I completely uninstall Garmin Express?" Once you have completed the uninstall, reboot the Mac and try installing Garmin Express again.

If the program still hangs, please contact ">Product Support">Product Support via phone or email.

In addition, I performed a PRAM reset + SMC reset + Disk Repair + Disk Permission Repair...

Garmin Express is still hanging. It worked fine up until 3/16. That's when the program started failing.

Download "Appcleaner" to remove a program.
Here you see a screenshot of al the Express program files on your mac.
Re-install GE, open "appcleaner", and drop the GE icon in the program, all extensions will be delete now.
  • Still hanging after reinstall.

Having the same problem, reinstalled GE following Garmins instructions and it started to hang while trying to sign in to Garmin Connect. Running Yosemite 10.10.5

    Garmin Express failed to install

Recently got a forerunner 220. I have had numerous attempts to install Garmin Connect to no avail. Have tried all suggestions and cannot get the programme to work. I just get the banner in th middle of the screen, it becomes unresponsive and i have to force quit the programme. Some help would be appreciated!

It appears that Garmin Express is installed if you get the splash screen and nothing else. If you have performed the full uninstall as posted in #13 above then the next step is to contact Product Support by phone for further assistance as Dave suggested.

I am sorry you are getting stuck installing Garmin Express. If the installer is hanging and it wasn't before, then something is stuck in the memory of the Mac causing the issue. Please make sure you use the FAQ, "">How do I completely uninstall Garmin Express?">How do I completely uninstall Garmin Express?" first.

Once Garmin Express is completely removed, please do the following:
    • Restart the Mac.
    • Make sure you log in as the Administrator.
