GE's working for me, as it is for many others. 2000 views with only a handful complaining perhaps points to less of a problem than you think. I agree it's annoying for a few though, and if Garmin have the logs they'll be working through them.
Sorry I'm still not clear where you're having the issue, brain cells slow this morning. You say 'when you start the program' so I assume it's installed correctly? Do the get the 'unexpected error' message when you start Express so it doesn't even make the initial screen or when you try to add a device or what?
I agree that it should work for all, but some computers have programs that interfere with Express. Your analogy with the coffee machine is a good one, the fact is some coffee machines don't work correctly either!

After upgrading to 4.0 yesterday, GE stopped working! When I try to downgrade back to 3.29, I get "Express is ALREADY installed". I'm now dead in the water!!! GARMIN!!! PLEASE FIX!!!
Do not forget that only people that are able to write in english do post here with their problems and I know a lot of french guys that are not able so they just try to read what they can (as the forum with support only exists in english). That is one explanation of the many 'views' with only a few complaining.
The big problem with this bug is, like Peter said, Garmin do not keep us in the loop even if they said they would !
