Hi, I'm trying to sync my Garmin device with Garmin Express and consistently get unable to connect errors. Have looked at a couple of threads with respect to the update service and that has not resolved the problem. Have uninstalled all Garmin software rebooted and installed Garmin Express only followed by update service change. Is there anything else that I can do to resolve the problem?
Exactly the same message, I restore defaults on my 920xt, uninstall and re install Garmin express, test and restest, works fine then when i want to really upload a session get the same error "there was a problem communicating with the garmin servers, please try again later!"
Hi
I am a new Garmin user. I just bought the FR70 and eagerly went to link my device and download my workout only to be faced with an error on the servers being down. That was Friday 7 November. I figured it was just for a short time and would just do it all on Monday. But again I try and the same error. Our servers are down and we hope to have them back up shortly. Well 3 days of downtime is shocking, so if they have infact been down for that amount of time there should be a communication going out somewhere.
Please can someone assist me as I have checked and Express is the latest version so it isn't that. I have tried connecting both at home and in the office so it should not be a firewall issue.
I assume you've looked at the post linked to above? Is that the error you're getting? If not can you explain exactly what your error message says? Also at what stage in the process are you getting the error?
It would also help if you let us know:
Does Express see your device? Does it show as 'connected' on the Updates tab? It should be listed in a box top left where it will state 'Connected' and with a green check mark. Does it also show your device software is up to date? Assuming all this is correct what do you see when you run Connect Modern?
Your account shows the 2015.30 maps were unlocked a couple hours after your post which indicates that issue was resolved. Let us know if you have any other questions.
Message to the Garmin folks - This is a problem with the GARMIN EXPRESS software. I can confirm that.
On a Mac, when this "There was a problem communicating with the Garmin servers. Please try again later." issue pops up, do this. Open the Console application located in /Applications/Utilities/Console. Look at recent entries for Garmin. There will be a long and ugly URL which is what Garmin Express is using to download the map data.
Enter that same URL directly into Safari, and the map downloads quickly, no delays, no hiccups, no hassles. Granted, I can't do anything with the resulting file. This indicates to me that the problem lies within the Garmin Express program and not with servers or other issues.
PLEASE fix this! And yes, I have the latest Garmin Express software, I downloaded it today.
Same here - its been like this for 2 weeks for me, raised it with Garmin through the forums and email and its taking forever to sort out. I had an email instruction to follow which I did and guess what, "unable to connect the Garmin Services!!!!!
Have you tried the links in the post one above yours? Note the line at the end, if it still doesn't connect contact Garmin by phone ... they can then check your PC remotely and help resolve your issue.
