Hi, I'm trying to sync my Garmin device with Garmin Express and consistently get unable to connect errors. Have looked at a couple of threads with respect to the update service and that has not resolved the problem. Have uninstalled all Garmin software rebooted and installed Garmin Express only followed by update service change. Is there anything else that I can do to resolve the problem?
There have been some Sync issues with the Daylight Saving Time switch. They should be corrected later tonight or tomorrow. I have ran several sync tests since 3PM with an ANT device and a USB mass storage fitness device. They started working consistently about 7PM CST.
can you therefore please see to it that activity syncing is not server dependent? we would like to be able to save the files locally when your servers freak out. i remember this happening once before, and no lesson appears to have been learnt back then. i am losing trust in garmin
Curt, that is all well and good, but why don't you publish issues such as this rather than having a clearly frustrated and some angry users on your hands. Suffice to say your response is not very precise nor encouraging. The reliability of the Garmin Express solution has been poor since inception and quality needs to improve immediately. I for one will start looking for an alternative non Garmin device if I see a continuation of this for much longer, read that as "by the end of the month". .
I am a Garmin 910xt user and haven't really looked at my workouts lately in Garmin Connect as I am experimenting with how BeginnerTriathlete.com(BT) and Sporttracks mobi (ST) work. However, after a workout or when I get near my computer I make sure I get the pop-up that says the sync with Garmin Express was successful and I just trust it. I go in to BT or ST right after that or the next day to view the workouts and edit them for equipment, add notes, etc. I let it go a couple days over this past weekend though. Yesterday (Sunday, Nov 2) I went into ST and BT to make sure the workouts are there and to do some edits--all workouts loaded into BT, but nothing on 10/31 or after is showing up on ST. An ST rep responded to an email I sent them and said they have had a lot of reports of this problem, but that everything is fine on their end (ST)--said the issue is on Garmin's side. This is seems to be the same thing that's happening between GC and STRAVA. I don't use strava, but seems to be the same problem. Does anyone have a solution?
I have been plagued by this problem ever since I upgraded to Express. I have FINALLY come across a solution (for me, it is a pretty generic error, but I hope it helps others who may be as frustrated as I am). My copy of windows keeps botting up with the wrong time (I have no idea why - it appears to be trying to daylight save which is odd given there is no Day light saving where I and the computer live), correcting this to the actual time 'magically' cures Express of its connection issues.
Having spent another few hours trying to get it working I am reminded that this was a cure I stubled upon a months ago. Anyway, hopefully this wi;; help some of you.
While I am writing here - Garmin if you would be so good as to port your OSX client to Linux I'd be able to rid myself of this issue (windows) entirely. There are a lot of us out there...
The issue is not solved for me and I still can't connect to Garmin servers and get my 910XT synced with Connect. A shame that all sync has to rely on such a poor software when all teh rest works fine.
I suspect the issue is nothing to do with the software ... perhaps if you explained your problem in more detail someone could help. What exactly are you trying to do and where does it fail, and with what error (if any)?
After installing version 3.2.21.0, I started to get systematically this message:
Before, GE was working fine. Tried since to uninstall, re-install, remove all firewall and antivirus , etc. Nothing seems to solve the issue. frustrating...
