Forerunner 310xt won't sync in Garmin Express

I have been trying to sync my 310xt but nothing happens. I've clicked on 'scan for devices' icon and also tried to search for a new device but not getting anywhere.
I get a message saying that an Ant+ stick is connected to my computer, so I assume that's ok and I've also checked that data transfer is enabled and pairing is on, on my 310xt.
Not very impressed with Garmin Express, never had any trouble with AntAgent.
  • Update: I reinstalled AntAgent to see if I could sync that way and not suprisingly the Ant+ stick detected my 310xt and began data transfer. Thought I'd sorted it but now my data downloaded via AntAgent won't send to Garmin Connect.

  • I'm having the exact same problem with my 910xt. Switched to modern Connect, said no device found and to use Garmin Express. Downloaded that and even though it shows my devices Connect still says no devices. Downloaded Ant Agent again, transferred my data but got error message saying "activity transfer to Garmin connect failed". I'm not impressed at all with Garmin software and customer support. I used polar for 10+ years and the software to analyse your data is far superior! and always an email and (local) phone number to ring - only needed that once in 10+ years. Can't find an email address to contact Garmin about this issue so hoping someone in this forum is listening and provide some help. Thanks a mil!
  • I did actually manage to sync my device with Express (only God knows how) but ran into more problems. I was told that there was an error when tryin to sync to Garmin Connect for data transfer and for some reason Express showed I had 12 items to sync when there are only 4 activities on my 310xt!!!
    What's going on Garmin???

    When adding the device to Garmin Express did you enable pairing on the 910XT? Please start with the suggestions in the FAQ: What should I do if Garmin Express shows Unable to connect with Garmin services? Why do I get can't connect to the Garmin server or services with Garmin Express? Verify Garmin ANT Agent is no longer installed on the computer and enable pairing on the 910XT when adding the device to Garmin Express.

  • I have had the same problems with the 910XT. Everything is done as Garmin says it should be: Garmin Express will not find it, and thus I can't add or update it (I'm advised there is an update to the software, but if the thing can't be seen, how am I to update it?).

    However, when I go to the Classic version, I can upload no problem, so it's clearly not a communication issue between the ANT stick at the 910XT.

    As of today I re-installed Garmin Express, and confirmed ANT Agent is not on my computer. I have restarted the computer. I have removed and reinserted the ANT stick. I have tried plugging the 910XT into the computer directly but all it does is charge it. Pairing is enabled. I de-enabled it, then re-enabled it, just to be sure. This is EXTREMELY frustrating. I have read all the Garmin help pages, which were precisely no help at all since I'd already tried everything they recommended. What else you got for me??

    I like the look of the Garmon Connect but loathe the functionality of it. It has connected just fine with my Edge 800 but refuses to recognize my 910XT. I much prefer something to work, rather than look better.
  • The only way I've been able to upload new activities from my 310XT to Garmin Connect is to delete the 310XT device from Garmin Express (making sure to select the "Keep in Garmin Connect" option , and then select "Add New Device". Garmin Express finds my 310XT, and uploads the latest activities.



    I'd love to know why Garmin Express and my 310XT don't simply SYNC every time there are new activities. Very frustrating for the money I paid!
  • I also finally got my device to sync and upload by deleting my 310xt then adding it as a new device JDLENZ. Does this mean we're going to have to do this every time I wonder? Come on Garmin time to release yet another update!
  • I have the same exact problem. Brand new garmin 310xt, had for about a month sync'ing with garmin express with no problems, then it just stopped sync'ing. Deleting the device and re-adding did the trick.
  • You will need to do this after an Express software update, that may be the issue you're having. I don't know whether that behaviour that will change in the future but at the moment I make a habit of deleting/reassociating devices everytime Express is updated.
  • I also had a brand new Garmin 910xt. I downloaded Garmin Express and got my watch found on express yet I cannot sync anything and nothings been uploaded on Garmin COnnect through EXpress. Anybody who can me on why I canno sync my device and it rolls on giving an error while syncing. Thank you guys...
