I tried all of the suggestions on this link. Still get the same error. What baffles me is that I update my older GPS and my daughters without any problems. Any other suggestions?

One possibility is the connector on the back of the 2597 that is acting up.  When connected to the laptop can you see it in Windows Explorer?

I can see it under My PC. My internal storage is almost used up. I have 700 mb left. But I have a memory card with 11 gb available.

I can't see it in the lower right where you eject from USB ports. I have windows 10 so maybe that's not an option anymore?

What is on the memory card that has 11 GB available?  Windows 10 wouldn’t matter unless it was something like the S version in which case it wouldn’t work on any of your devices.

Its a 16 GB that was needed to allow thje last update to maps. The biggest file on it is gmapprom 3.13 gb. I can see the other GPS in the lower right corner where you can eject the devices. But I can't see the 2597.

Thanks, Well that worked, the computer see's the device now. But still getting the same error. Plus now I'm getting a "Invalid chart" after I do a search for device on Express.

What happens if you attempt to add it as a new device?
