After installing the new Express version 7.18.0 and syncing my Forerunner 45, I found that all saved activities were gone. The log was empty.

The issue has been resolved in a just released when updated to Garmin Express version 7.18.1.

Yes. And there isn't even any CACHE to them.
As my Forerunner 955 v16.16 beta Swimrun was corrupted, but can't investigate it at all as the .fit file is now GONE when I connected the watch to computer to look at it..
But interesting thing is that the watch shows something from 2022 in the history, where does this data come from and why don't it put new activities there.
Hard work would be download original zips from Garmin Connect and then unzip and etc. Probably not worth the trouble.
But as my Swimrun didn't go to Garmin Connect for some reason, can't download it there, so that's gone. It's annoying that there's no data :D
Same issue with Forerunner 955 Solar. Garmin Express version 7.18.0 on Windows 10. Activities are deleted from the Activity Folder after syncing on Garmin Express. Kind of annoying that I can no longer see my recent runs on my watch after syncing.
The only activity still saved on my watch is one short run from 2022, but it doesnt even show the full data on the watch. Also, the one random 2022 activity is not in the Activity Folder when I plug it in to the computer.
Garmin has pulled version 7.18.0 from downloads and has gone back to 7.17.3.0. I've uninstalled GE and reinstalled from the Garmin Express download site - Garmin Express - Windows | Garmin
This is now the "latest" version until the next update.
Did a run today and can confirm that the fit file was not removed from the \GARMIN\ACTIVITY folder on my epix (Gen 2)
When uninstalling one needs to delete all files, otherwise old Garmin Express seems to crash, which means that you need do add all your devices again.
Yep. Doing it now. Not an uninstall in my case, but as a result of installing Windows 11 on a new hard drive, so of course everything was gone.
Yeah, did uninstall, reinstall, crashes, uninstall, reinstall. As didn't want to pair everything again, but it seemed to be required, so mentioned so others could save time and one uninstall and reinstall phase :)
