Express 7.18.0 deletes all activities

After installing the new Express version 7.18.0 and syncing my Forerunner 45, I found that all saved activities were gone. The log was empty.

I had this trouble before with version 7.13.0 and ask that this be corrected, thank you very much!

    Same here. It does it on all three of my Garmin units. Edge 530, 820 & Forerunner 920XT. I've been saying it for years now, their software staff are the descendants of Moe, Larry, Curly & Shemp.

    Confirmed also for Garmin Edge 1030 +.
    All activities are gone after syncronizing with V 7.18.
    Also, all gathered folders (by G Express) on the device showing weird timstamps, dated in the future (2038).

    Hence, this problem is easy retrace by Garmin. Why do they ask for screenshots, istead of connecting a device by their own?

    even the logfile (C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Logs\Express) tells literally, that GExpress is deleteing the recent.fit files:

    Garmin support ask me for Garmin folder from my device, hopefully they will investigate and find what is going on.

    The issue has been resolved in a just released when updated to Garmin Express version 7.18.1.

    GE 7.18.1 installed. The issue seems to be solved for new files, but unfortunately 7.18.1 doesn't restore the files, which were deletet by GE 7.18 last week. Any chance to get these files back?

    Not necessarily needed and can even cause issues if you have excessive activities stored on your watch. If you feel the need, I would just download the last weeks' worth of activities.

    • Go to Garmin Connect Web
    • Open an activity that you want to move to your watch.
    • Select the gear icon, then "export original."
    • Unzip the file
    • With your watch connected to your computer browse to <YourDevice>\Internal Storage\GARMIN\NewFiles and paste each fit file

    Rather laborious and not worth the effort, IMO. I would just wait for the files to build back up on the watch.

    How about the one that it didn't upload to GCW and deleted? And I lost activity? :( 

    But granted that's partly also because of the FR955 16.16 Beta issue, that multisport/swimrun is broken.

    maybe try to see if "export your data" works on this garmin website.   www.garmin.com/.../
