Blank screen when signing in to Garmin account

I have a new laptop (Windows 10 Pro), and have installed the latest Garmin Express version. It recognizes my Fenix 6 Pro without problems, but when I click 'Sign in' in the next configuration step, a blank window opens, just stating 'Garmin Connect'. It keeps blank, even after waiting 30 minutes. Nothing seems to happen.

I have uninstalled Garmin Express, reinstalled it, and rebooted my laptop between every step. No luck. Installed and run as Administrator, nothing works.

What is blocking this login screen? Does anyone recognize this?

  • Same issue on the Garmin Express Mac forum, with a post marked as answer from 1 forum member - Garmin Express doesn't have a "login" page

    Not a fix, but a potential workaround. Once the screen comes up, you should be able to just start typing your email address. If not,  hover the mouse around the general location of those 2 text boxes, you might see the cursor change from pointer to I-beam, at which point left click so the cursor is in the text box. Then enter your email address, then press tab so the cursor will now be in the password text box, enter your password, then press enter to sign in.

  • Yes, that did the trick, thanks. I'm getting a bit tired of Garmin's inability to write decent, coherent and intuitive software. I like their hardware and platform, but these things are just too annoying!

    especially if you're just transferring to a new computer - i should be able to sign in (without having to guess at where the input boxes are) and then my devices download to the new computer. 

  • I can get the I-beams to show up, but no text entry is possible. also get the hand icon at about where the sign in button and "Create one" link for creating a new account are located, with no response to clicking through

    Once you see the I-beam, left click so the cursor is in the text box. Then enter your email address, then press tab so the cursor will now be in the password text box, enter your password, then press enter to sign in.

    Same!   I get the i beams  but it won't let me enter text.  Waiting for something what to try :(

  • Contact Garmin Support. I'd do it, but I'm not experiencing this issue.

    The same thing happened to me but what I noticed was it just took a long time for the text to show up.  I entered my credentials before bed last night using the I beam and invisible text,  checked this morning and it was there.   I signed in and it worked.   I it can't find wifi on my watch because I think there is a huge lag but at least I'm in.   It's not perfect and I haven't had time to check if everything else is working yet.  Garmin needs to fix the communication gap with windows 10 ... it isn't going away!
