Problems connecting to Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar with BaseCamp 4.7.4 since firmware update

I have noticed that recently, there have been reports that Basecamp is not working with the Fenix 7X since the recent firmware update, but both seem to have been closed so I cannot add my experiences. I can confirm that this is also the case for me:

BaseCamp shows the Fenix 7X but the Internal Storage does not show any of my recorded tracks:

However, my old Epix from 2016 is still showing the tracks and waypoints as normal:

The Fenix 7X was working before the firmware update. It looks as if the latest Fenix 7X firmware is not compatible with BaseCamp.

Our engineers are aware of an issue effecting the Outdoor wearables (Fenix 7, Epix 2, Marq etc) being recognized correctly by BaseCamp. They are working toward a software solution…

Some have indicated this is working for them with the BETA software 17.12, but not all. So out engineers are still investigating this for a solution. And hope to have this resolved as quickly as possible…

After working quite a time without any problems it stopped working again on Fenix 7s pro sapphire solar with beta 16.18 (same error as in the first post)

I'm sending my fenix 7Xsolar to italian support because US support to solve this issue made me delete a file that must not be deleted.

Same problem since update. Now I`ve found that the tracks sent draging to the device folder in basecamp go to the gpx folder instead of courses folder and my device can`t never read into that. So now it´s imposible to load a track to follow

Unfortunately I´ve lost also my language folder

My device is a Fenix 7 Saphire Solar

can any of you send the spanish language folder zipped?

TenStopardi y can send you the maps zipped but the file es sure too large.

Thanks, but i just packed the watch to send to italian support tomorrow.

I'll keep an eye on this thread to see how it evolve and i'll write here when i'll get back the watch.

Hi, same on both Fenix 7 base and Solar after 11.28. 11.25 was working OK earlier today, updated to 28 and now MapInstall or BaseCamp cannot find the device

I confirm this issue on my Tactix 7 after 11.28, 10.46 was working fine.

I just got the warranty echanged Fenix 7X Solar.

It arrived with 8.45 firmware - Basecamp was OK.

It updated to 11.28, Basecamp (and map installer) issue got back.

This issue seems so confirmed caused by last firmware update 11.28 (previous ones wre all ok).

Someone wrote about it in the beta forum:

In my opinion, this is more a Fenix 7 family firmware issue than a Basecamp issue (that is working with an old Edge and one Epix1).

Can this issue be forwarded to the firmware team?

Basecamp is actively being looked into by our engineering team to resolve the current issues with our newer generation watches not loading maps into Basecamp.

The following products can also be used in place of Basecamp.

- The Explore APP and Explore website (Create waypoints and courses.)

- The Connect Mobile APP and Connect website to create courses.

For those that own a handheld outdoor GPS device, the map will load from the device. For those that have bought maps on a microSD/SD card over the years for their handheld device, the map will still load through Basecamp.

If you are asking how to load a map that is licensed to be used on your watch, the map will not be able to be transferred to computer memory to be viewed using Basecamp until the current issue is resolved.

Hi Chris,

does this mean that any map that we are currently can download as "Garmin Compatible" e.g. OSM or even local Garmin supported formats for trail run, hike etc. would not be usable in the future? These would today be installed on PC/Mac, be visible in Basecamp and sent to the device with MapInstall.
