New Raid Pyrenees 2024 , Feedback

As the other thread is a bit long, I figured I'd start a new one for testing. This will be dedicated to the first 12 of the 24 stages. The second half will be published after they have completed the server switch sometime in June along with the Corsica & possibly also some from Sardinia.

Stage 1 does start a little early so we do have some very strong sun glare at the very start..it gets better!

Stage 2 - we head away from the main roads & you get to see the mountains grow in size.

Stage 3 - 1st proper HC climb with the Iraty, its steep also,  these amazing green-coloured climbs are not as well known as they should be

Stage 4 - 6 Col du Soudet to the Col de Marie Blanque the 2nd long day of filming in the Spring with the older camera...its going to hurt, but its all very scenic!

Stage 7 - 12 Col d'Aubisque to the Peyresourde.  We skip forward in time to September 2022, starting off from the end of Stage 6, some Autumn colours can be spotted as you climb & we are also now using the newer chicken camera on Bertha...I was using this trip to learn the brand-new camera & I am still learning how best to use it, haha.

The list of KOMs for the first 12 stages—I count 35 KOMs in total—might number them? Perhaps in reverse order?

  • v5 RAID21 - Garabeil

    TDM - 100% / RFI - 100%. Morning's weight is 66,9 kg. Average power - 2.15 W/kg.

About 15 km from the start  - camera tilt. It seems to be the first time in the Pyrenees. But now this can not be changed.
15.1 km - after stop, drop in gradient.
16.79 km - also after a stop. For a short period of time a descent.
    All is great!

  • v5 RAID22 - Col du Jau

    TDM - 100% / RFI - 100%. Morning's weight is 66,9 kg. Average power - 2.2 W/kg.

24.49 km from the start. I would have started the gradient earlier by 50-100 m. But further the profile is good.
After finish the video still freezes for a few seconds.

  • v5 RAID23 - Languedoc Vineyards

    TDM - 100% / RFI - 100%. Morning's weight is 66,8 kg. Average power - 2.19 W/kg.

Beautiful nature after the rain. Beautiful sun.
Everything is great. Even road feeling is there.
    I pedaled and looked around.

  • v7 RAID24 - Cerbere on the Mediterranean

    TDM - 100% / RFI - 100%. Morning's weight is 67.3 kg. Average power - 2.2 W/kg.

YES! I did it! And it became sad.
A beautiful route. I will definitely come back. I can watch it like a movie.
Sometimes Phil goes the wrong way Smile
22.26 km from the start. The high gradient begins after the turn.
22.44 km and further - everything is fine.
The video ended early. I should have gone a few more meters forward Wink

  • I'm just waiting for Garmin to make it an official Tacx Challenge. I at least want some points for riding it Joy

  • Today when I opened TDA Beta I was excited to see this 84-day "Raid Pyrenees" challenge Slight smile

It totals 838.3km and 21360hm. This is going to be fun!

Does anyone know the ETA for public? I need to free up my agenda Smiley

  • And now it's on public. Woohoo! Let's go!

At 9pm I can see 32 riders are busy doing the challenge, no idea what the total would be but it will have to be 100s of them...everyone else is doing random stages, there are even a bunch doing the final stage lol. .. Its a crime that there is no proper progress map, this would so easily have been addictive to just watch from my armchair in Spain haha (Tomorrow hopefully Movistar Women if it does not rain).
