Digital display not working - Replaced

Just for info:

Everything was working fine, analog hands moving, garmin connect sync, HR, notifications vibration, but no digital display. How can you troubleshoot this with a "factory reset"? You cannot because the only way to do that is through the digital display menus, no option for that on garmin connect or express. I've sent it to garmin support and they sent me back a new watch.

  • Same with mine. Been working fine for about 2 1/2 years then suddenly stopped working today. Tried the connect to PC reset but didn’t work. Offered replacement for £76.80 fee. Seems to be a pretty standard issue, possible even built in to fail once out of warranty. An OLED display should last more than 2 years. Very poor from Garmin, support agents helpful but failed to mention the fee for returning.

  • Same problem; LED display died after 2 years. Expensive rubbish. Waiting to hear if Garmin will offer me anything to assist.

  • Can you share the app link for reset? Would like to try a reset before sending into Garmin support?

  • I do not have the link anymore, sorry. I got it from their support agent during the chat I had with her.

    I suggest you contact support via chat, they are very good with that. You do not have to worry about being put on hold as it may happen if you call and whatever instructions they give to you will be in writing.

  • Same problem with mine. Didn’t think to replace this but it has suddenly one from slightly fade on right hand side to now only being able to see 1 digit in the time.  Very disappointed indeed to hear how many experience this not longer after the warranty has ended. Does this mean garmin only has a two year shelf life regardless? Expensive watch. 

  • Same problem and same issues. The reset only works if you have display on the screen and there is no reset function on the phone app or via Garmin Connect or Garmin Express. I've had the watch for just over 2 years. It appears from other comments that perhaps this is the life of this device - a real shame as it is still working and I can see the details on the app - just no screen display
