Vivoactive 3 Jaybird Vista Headphone Connectivity

Anyone having issues with Jaybird Vista headphone connectivity on their Vivoactive 3 music after SW 5.80?

  • Yep, my headphones cur out every 5-10mins. Actually think it was originally caused by a bluetooth update just after 5.80.  Another update via Garmin Express seemed to fix the problem, but v5.90 has brought it back again.

  • Try the new Beta, it has stability fixes, might be the branch they missed from 5.8 that causes the golf issue for me.

Same here - I'm pairing with Jaybird Tarah Pros, music lasts around 5-10 minutes then the connection drops and will not come back no matter how many times I restart the buds. This started 1-2 weeks ago.

  • I got a message on the beta thread that it was not fixed there, tough luck, you will have to report it to Garmin support.

  • I reported my issues to Garmin Support earlier today.  Interestingly I’m pairing to Jaybird Vistas, so I wonder if there are some brand specific glitches baked in to the latest Garmin firmware.  I will update here if any resolution is found.

Tested again a couple of days ago - 5.90 has not rectified the problem, music cuts after 5-10m, just after a new track begins. (Vivoactive 3 Music/Jaybird Tarah Pro)

  • Yes, same here - extremely disappointing..

    hi

I'm facing the same issue with jaybird vista

tried to reset both devices, no effect

anyone got an answer from garmin?

    thks

  • Early results from firmware 6.0 update are promising.  I’ve managed to listen to 5 songs in a row on my Vistas without dropouts for the first time in a month. Hopefully this will carry through to in-activity listening.

  • I have been talking with a support rep from Garmin and the answers I've gotten are INCREDIBLY disappointing.  I had been using Jaybird Vistas too.  I've pasted some highlights below.   The most recent communication was just an hour ago.

    - They cannot roll back the firmware, even though they clearly have a copy saved somewhere.  They will not give it to me, no matter how much I beg.

    - There is no timeline for a fix, though the firmware is "under review."

    - The update is that the page showing compatible headphones no longer lists the Vistas (https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=FnVJLBvvw51RfH3OE2YUO6&searchQuery=bluetooth%20headphones), and " it is possible they will be added in the future but this is not guaranteed."

So yeah, awful response from Garmin.  If it's not working, they should roll it back.  I work at a company with a similar hardware/firmware situation, and this is how it's handled for best results across the board.  I would love to hear an official statement about what is going on internally.
