Unable to connect GPS

First time watch owner: When trying to start an outside activity there is a terminal no connections. No matter what I do, I get the message, "Wait for GPS". I've updated and synced Garmin Express and Garmin Connect. What am I missing? I've seen quite a few write ups using a Google search of others having similar issues All seem to have a unique fix, but I really don't want to venture into a hundred different fix attempts, especially if the "fix' is no longer a viable option. Appreciate any advice. Thanks.
  • Thanks for posting that and I’d like to try it. Where do I find ‘App Info’ please, to do App info > permissions > locations? In my Vivoactive, in the Garmin Connect app on my phone, in my hone settings or in my computer Garmin Connect account? I’ve tried each and can’t seem to find App Info.

My watch is about 6 months old. GPS worked amazing and then randomly in the last week it stopped working.

I've tried a hard rest, syncing with garmin connect.

I've also made sure app permissions allow location and turned on GPS +GLASSON

  • I tried re-starting, leaving it outside trying to connect to GPS for 10 minutes, connecting to Garmin express. What finally worked was to go into settings -> system -> time -> time source -> auto (it had said manual).

When I exited out, the time and date had synched - probably to my phone.
