Export all Fitbit data into Garmin

I just purchased my first Garmin and I am interested in pulling over all the data (step count, activities etc) from Fitbit to Garmin. I already downloaded all the data, but all the files are in json formal. How can that be imported to Garmin?

Hi all, I am struggling with Sleep Data import from Fitbit to Garmin.
It looks like Fitbit changed the format of export files - I am receiving the error message.

Please, can anybody share the correct Sleep Data format which can be used for import to Garmin? (CSV or XLSX)
(By the way, I was able to import all steps from Mi Fit app (using Apple Health and then Fitbit), but no Sleep Data.)

    Many thanks,
    Jerry
  • I'm interested in this too, i would like to migrate from fitbit to garmin but i can't lose all my data!
  • The link Garmin-Kara provided in post #3 has an explanation of how to go about the Fitbit to Garmin import. Has anyone looked at it recently and tried what's in there? The key difference I see in that description from what I've read in other posts of this string is the Fitbit export needs to be in CSV format. Give it a try and let us know how it goes.

i've tried... several times and ways... the JSON data is... horribly unformatted as one issue, as well as the "activity and body data" is extremely vague...

the data that garmin seems to like only seems to be available for the last month... a 1 month export (available in CSV) contains Date,Calories Burned,Steps,Distance,Floors,Minutes Sedentary,Minutes Lightly Active,Minutes Fairly Active,Minutes Very Active,Activity Calories

but an all time export contains... altitude, calories, badges (useless...),  demographic vo2max, distance, exercise, heart rate, light/moderately/very/sedentary minutes, sleep, steps, time in heart rate zones, and weight.

I've tried taking even just a small section of my steps export... firing it through a converter... adjusting the generic "value" header the json files have to "Steps", tried mimicing the fitbit CSV export. no matter what i've done... i get the generic "An error occurred with your upload. Please try again."

I really wish they'd allow either direct JSON, or direct zip file upload...i don't care if it takes a few days for it to populate out the data...i've spent DAYS trying to get this data to actually be something other than digital clutter.

Me too! All I want to import is my heart rate, the resting HR in particular. Thanks for your info, I'm going to see if I can just manually input the resting HR etc and just wait for my VO2max to update itself after a few weeks. Disappointed

  • Well, we still waiting.
