Garmin Venu doesn't pair with connect app

When I received my Venu it didn't pair with the Connect app, but suddenly everything seemed to work alright. That is, until I turned off the watch. After that I have never  been able to pair watch and app again. The watch is visible from within the app's pairing mode, but it keeps 'searching' and reports 'we are having some trouble locating your device'. I have tried every option from the manual and support site. I have tried three different phones and an Ipad, all with their latest OS, but nowhere does the watch pair. The 3.80 update did not solve the problem. I have e-mailed Garmin two weeks ago, but they did not respond. Does anyone have a solution or should I deem this device faulty and return it?

    Hi, I’m using iPhone.
I was able to resolve the problem, connected my garmin to my computer (cause after the factory reset, I couldn’t use/reinstall my device at all) and when connecting to my new phone afterwards made sure no other bluetooth devices were around... this seemed to do the trick...

  • Ok, that is great to hear! Sorry to hear the device was having these issues. Please reach out if it happens again.

Had the same issue on Iphone. Gå to setting, Bluetooth, you will have an old Bluetooth profil for the Connected Watch (choose forget it)

then you will Get a new paring code from the Watch when you try to pair it again.

    1. Settings -> Bluetooth -> Remove old venu profil.

    2. On Watch -> settings -> pair phone

    3. Connected app -> add device

4.. you will now Get the pairing code from the watch face.

This is ridiculous. Why not just enable NFC pairing as a secondary route. Everything was fine on a 3 month old Venu until update 6.2 and 6.3 made it worse. I shouldn't have to constantly re-pair the watch. Fix your software.

  • Had this issue with mom's Venu 2 watch pairing with iphone. It paired fine with an Android for some reason. But we reset wiped everything multiple times. Still didn't work. Finally saw this comment and walked outside to the front yard (still within range of WiFi) but away from any Bluetooth signal in the house and it paired within 30 seconds!!!!
