Did you try to hold the A button 15+ seconds for a hard reset ? Even when the screen is dead it should be able to perform a hard reset, I had the issue a while ago and that did the trick.
Hi yes I did a hard reset several times and it does restart but then nothing really responds, buttons, screen etc and then it just goes off again. After this the only way to get any response from it is to do another hard reset
maybe best to chat with garmin support then, perhaps a factory reset is needed.
