Venu Sq Will Not Pair After ANT/BLE/BT (Bluetooth) Update to 3.60

Completely out of the blue fail to connect my Garmin sq with my Huawei p30 Lite (( it all started after my watch requested a bluetooth update this morning, I confirmed, it was obviously installed. Some time after I noticed that my watch was still disconnected despite the fact that internet was on.. But I did not think of it as a problem until I realised it stayed disconnected through the day while Internet and bluetooth were on! (( I went through all the steps of troubleshooting... restarted both devices, then unpaired the watch, and removed it from Garmin Connect, deinstalled Garmin Connect, then attempted to pair again - not happening, the search for device goes round and round. Got tired of continuously restarting my watch, then my phone and over again... Just why updates on Garmin is causing so much distress? Please Help? SOS! What do I do next to fix it?

  • Tried this again and still no success. Going into Day 5 where my Garmin Venu Sq is pretty worthless. 

    No matter what I do (done both versions of resetting the device) and Bluetooth just won’t connect or hold a connection. I’m having no other issues with any other Bluetooth devices, just Garmin.

  • Having exact same issue! My watch won't even show up as a searchable device for iPhone even when I put the watch in pairing mode. I've spent the last day panicking about it. I've tried everything I can think of including plugging it into my PC now.

  • So yesterday morning I did a factory reset and got watch paired with phone.  About an hour later I got a notification that there was a software update... took the option of saying no, to be then be told that it would automatically take place later that night .... Imagine my joy this morning when I had to reset to default settings again ! Is this going to be a daily occurance ....???

  • Try turning your watch off and then connecting it again right away if that happens. I did and got it to reconnect enough to sort of function. 

  • Same problem. After reset it works. But if the Bluetooth connection is lost again, is will not pair again. Really frustrating!

  • I also have the same issue since an update 2 days ago. Venu SQ will not connect to android phone; the phone can't even find it at all on Bluetooth. I have tried all troubleshooting including removing device from Connect and trying to add again, connected to computer using Garmin Express to ensure watch is updated, restarting everything several times. I'm not willing to try a factory reset at this point.

    Sounds like Garmin is aware of the issue and is working to fix it. I really hope it's fixed soon. Have only had my Venu SQ for 3 months and have loved it... When it works!

  • There are 2 resets, I chose the one that keeps all your info. It worked. The only thing I had to do is input the settings I had for the watch face, otherwise it works as it did before.

  • I did that the partial reset but no luck, then did the full reset that wipes all data.  My Venu SQ and Garmin Connect on my Samsung S9 finally found each other.  But 5 minutes later my Venu SQ is no longer connecting and the control panel shows a gray / blue flashing phone & bluetooth symbol.
