Measurements diapearing from Garmin Connect

So here is what I am observing:

I weigh in on my Garmin Index every morning. If I check Garmin Connect shortly thereafter, it shows all six measurements - weight, body fat, BMI, % water, Muscle Mass, and Bone Mass. Then sometime during the day, all the measurements disappear except for Weight. I have checked Garmin Connect on my PC, Android Phone, and IPad and its the same on all of the, the reset of the measurements are gone.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Dan
  • 2 days and so far so good. All metrics sync and stored. I have MFP connected too and have done throughout the last few months, I didn't disconnect/reconnect it. It just started working again on it's own. Fingers crossed this is a permanent fix.
  • Hi Everyone,

We apologize for the frustration with your weigh-ins over the last few weeks. We’ve pushed some backend Garmin Connect changes overnight that should resolve your Index weight measurements from being replaced by weight data uploaded via MyFitnessPal and other Garmin wearables. We have a few other planned improvements to ensure you can easily access the data captured by your Index Smart Scale that will be made soon.

Please let us know if you continue to see issues with your weigh-ins.

    Thanks,

    Garmin Product Support

It still does not work as intended.
It keeps the all the data from todays measurement, but yesterdays data is lost when I do a new weigh in today.
This is both in GMC and on the web site.

MyFitnessPal still overwrites my data in GC, however I believe my Fenix 5s alone does not, so an improvement, but clearly they still need to work out the MFP bugs. Disconnected my MFP account again

Does anyone have a MFP account linked and index data remaining in Garmin Connect?

    update from Garmin:

    Hello Will,

I apologize for the inconvenience, once you link back with MyFitnessPal it may affect that days weight metrics. However going forward, the data synced from the scale will remain. We do have an another update that will be released soon to correct this issue.

    Thank you for choosing Garmin,

  • We are confident that our recent release has corrected missing weight metrics for a majority of our users, that being said, there is a use cases that may cause this issue to occur from time to time. One possible scenario would be re-connecting a third party account to your Garmin Connect account. We have seen where the data between Garmin and third party accounts can differ during this communication and the last reported measurement is the one we accept. If this last known value comes from a third party account, and they only report weight back to us, we will then only display the last reported weight. We are aggressively working on our next release to resolve this conflict. Thank you for your patience as we work through these releases.

  • But please what is the logic?
If I have an index scale it should be the preferred data source, no other service must overwrite my index data (only an updated measurement with the same index scale should).
If really needed a manual input in connect could be considered to overwrite index scale data in connect sw.

    my 2 cents

Seems to be fixed for me now. I ran this morning, weighed when I got back in and the measurements are still showing in connect on the web and iPhone correctly. Synced my Vivosmart HR+ as well.
  • Ma73ko - we agree and our goal with an upcoming release is that Index weight data does take priority.
  • Hello,

@@Garmin-ben As you're active here, when do your team plan to fix fat mass problem (stuck at 6 or 7%) reported last year (ticket is open and tagged as minor since august 17) ?

    Thanks for your answer,
    D.

Well now that my scale has updated its firmware NOTHING is being uploaded to GCM. Anyone else having this issue?
