Measurements diapearing from Garmin Connect

So here is what I am observing:

I weigh in on my Garmin Index every morning. If I check Garmin Connect shortly thereafter, it shows all six measurements - weight, body fat, BMI, % water, Muscle Mass, and Bone Mass. Then sometime during the day, all the measurements disappear except for Weight. I have checked Garmin Connect on my PC, Android Phone, and IPad and its the same on all of the, the reset of the measurements are gone.

Has anyone else noticed this?

It is not normal need a lot of days to solve a problem with the main function of a product such as the Garmin Index Smart Scale. I Don't understand it and we need a urgent solution. When will be solve this issue?

  • I can confirm that the issue is still present for me as well. iOS 11.2.5, GCM 4.3, VivoActive3 FW2.90, Index Scale FW3.0.0, no connection to any third party accounts.

Weight is synced from Vivoactive3 every single day, and if there happens to be data from the Index Scale on the particular day it's overwritten.

Come on Garmin, this is getting really ridiculous...!!

I have been hanging back, not commenting for quite some time now. I got a Garmin Fenix 5s and an Index Scale around Christmas time. I started using the scale on January 7th. It was such a step up from my Tanita scale that was still in use despite being over 20 years old. Now I look back at my history and on January 17th I only have weight, BMI and gain. At that point I also starting seeing weights show up on days I did not even weigh myself.

I updated to GCM 4.3 yesterday. Yesterday's weight and all measurements remained even after going for a swim and synchronizing afterwards. Today's weight and measurements remained for a while, but got wiped out at some point, I think when I opened the app and the watch did a sync. It seems to me it is something to do with the first full sync of the day. I am going to weigh myself again and see if all the measurements remain. I have a rest day today and did not have a swim planned today, but just might go for a light swim later to test things.

Given how litigious things are in the U.S., I would not be surprised if some sort of class action lawsuit gets rolling if things don't get fixed soon. These devices are not cheap and I have seen lawsuits happen over smaller figures.

I am actually so confused right now. I just bough my scale yesterday. It will not work with my Samsung S8. I try on Note 5 and it doesnt work too. Its not old or new phone. The Index cant talk at all to my phone. I am getting a ANT+ receiver to try this Monday and I have to do this on the PC with Garmin Express. No idea if this will work at all.

Today with GC4.3.0.14 on iPhone, Fenix 5. Metrics appeared after disconnecting myFitnesspal, and disappeared after reconnecting MFP and syncing fenix 5. Very frustrating as I use Both features
  • So after disconnecting Myfitnesspal all of my numbers stuck from yesterday, my numbers from today looked good until I went into settings on GCM to check the version numbers of the app which wiped out all of the today's metrics I had this same issue a couple of years ago, come on Garmin you've fixed this once before I know you know how!

Same issue here. Long time Garmin user, just picked up the Index scale a week ago. Fenix 5s, no MFP link but do use Strava. On my end the issue appears to be related to syncing my activities. Ironically, I found this thread today however had phoned US support day before yesterday where they explained that it must be a defective scale and are shipping a replacement [which should arrive today].

Clearly a broader issue and not HW related.

I agree with other comments in that open and consistent communication of status from Garmin would be appreciated and go along way to avoiding additional user frustration.

This is the most frustrating and worrying aspect of this situation. We have purchased this expensive scale and it doesn’t do the thing that is its selling point: accumulating and store body composition metrics.

For those of us who have purchased it in the last month or so it never has. And some support contacts tell some of us the problem is a high priority for resolution, while others get told it is not common or have their time wasted by having the scale recalled and not fixed. Mine was recalled and sent back to me with the promise that a software fix was "a few days away". That was two weeks ago.

I have been in touch with Garminand been told that their colleagues in engineering are aware and working on it, only to continue to see evidence here that the awareness and internal communications in Garmin is chaotic. I have replied with examples of this.

And so do we trust that a solution is really priority and will happen in a reasonable amount of time. Or do we look at evidence from elsewhere in these forums at bugs that seem to go on indefinitely?

it is likely that our handwringing in this forum is ineffective. Actually, 12 pages of complaining and and no change means it is more than likely. Our moderator friend frequently points out that this is user to user and not a place to give feedback to Garmin.

If if you are affected by this issue please complain directly to Garmin and insist the look at all of this thread. Ask to speak to a manager. Don’t let them fob you off.

Garmin-Blake , please do the right thing and find out what the hell is going on.
