Measurements diapearing from Garmin Connect

So here is what I am observing:

I weigh in on my Garmin Index every morning. If I check Garmin Connect shortly thereafter, it shows all six measurements - weight, body fat, BMI, % water, Muscle Mass, and Bone Mass. Then sometime during the day, all the measurements disappear except for Weight. I have checked Garmin Connect on my PC, Android Phone, and IPad and its the same on all of the, the reset of the measurements are gone.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Dan
  • Today. MFP still disconnected. The scale and WiFi connection worked super fast. Within a few seconds everything was send. Al the data present on the mobile app and on the website.
I planned to ride on the bike to work (Fenix 5x). Because the last times all the data disappeared i wanted to make a screenshot........ The data (only of today) were gone.... without doing a thing. Strange.
After the ride I uploaded the ride with the Fenix. Tomorrow I will check if todays data are present again. This weekend I'll reconnect MFP and see what's going happen.

    Today 3-feb-2018:
    MFP not connected
    Index scale zending data fine
    Fenix 5x not GC off
Result all data present on the GC website
Fenix 5x on and synchronising. Result: data gone in the mobile app and on the GC website and yesterdays data did not remover.ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1304734.png
  • I weigh myself every day 2 times. The first with the modem on, the second with the modem off.
At the first weighing, the scale synchronizes the data. with the second weigh, the scale stores data in it, failing the scale to send data to connect. (modem off) This thing is needed:
Every time I weigh and synchronize between fenix and connect the data is deleted.
Up to here ok (the problem we know) but at the first weighing I make the scale synchronizes in addition to the daily weight even the weigh of the day before it had not synchronized (remember that I wrote that the second daily weighing I do with the modem turned off).
Know that the data that are deleted are only those of the current day.
So the problem is cheated in this way.
  • I am having the same problems, my Vivoactive HR is apparently overwriting the scale measurements.

It's happening to me too. I actually know what's going wrong, but of course, I can't fix it myself. The problem is the weight in your user profile is not being updated by the new weight. And then at some point when it syncs with the server again, the new weight is being overwritten by the weight in your user profile. For example, let's say the weight in my user profile is 115. Then I weigh with my Garmin Connect scale and I weigh 117. Or I manually enter 117 into the Garmin Connect mobile app. It doesn't matter. For a few moments, the new weight will "hold" in Garmin Connect and you will the new weight in the Garmin Connect mobile app when you check it. But at some point, it will sync with the server and instead of the new weight overwriting the old weight in your user profile, the reverse will happen and the old weight in your user profile will overwrite the new weight. It's really freaking annoying and there's nothing I can do to fix it.
  • Disconnect MFP and everything should be alright
  • Fteures , please read through this thread and you’ll see that many of us have systematically tested this issue with and without connection to third party apps, including MyFitnessPal. We have demonstrated that the issue is intrinsic to the Garmin ecosystem.
  • Read.
    Garmin wrote to me:

    Dear Tommaso,

Thank you for contacting Garmin Customer Care.

I confirm with the present that we are aware of this further problematic present on the index and not linked to myfitnesspal. We are working on the release of an update for the app that fixes the problem. Please bring some more patience
  • I've asked Garmin to confirm whether the data are being kept and just not displayed or if they are being entirely lost. If they are being lost and there's not an imminent fix then I intend to send the scales back as unfit for purpose. Given that Garmin provide no way to access the data except via their own tools and the tools don't work, then as far as I am concerned the scales are no better than the old set they replaced but at 5 times the cost.
  • Mine works like a charm after I have disconnected Myfitnesspal.
