Measurements diapearing from Garmin Connect

So here is what I am observing:

I weigh in on my Garmin Index every morning. If I check Garmin Connect shortly thereafter, it shows all six measurements - weight, body fat, BMI, % water, Muscle Mass, and Bone Mass. Then sometime during the day, all the measurements disappear except for Weight. I have checked Garmin Connect on my PC, Android Phone, and IPad and its the same on all of the, the reset of the measurements are gone.

Has anyone else noticed this?

So I did a little testing today. The below steps are in sequence

    On fenix chronos:
I turned off Bluetooth on my fenix chronos:
I went to settings/ user profile and changed my weight manually from 89kg (the recurring incorrect value that continually updates to and overwrites my index scales data)to 80kg

    Then on GCM android
I went to user settings and changed the weight value from 89kg to 80 kg.
I exited the screen and went back into it 10s later and the value had reverted to 89kg. (This is where I think the bug is)

Then i stood on my index scales and recorded my weight at 80.3kg. This updated to gcm along with all the other body mass index/ body fat metrics.

I then waited 1 hour after which

On GCM my user settings/ weight value was still 89kg however the weight of 80.3kg and all other metrics still appeared on the health stats/ weight widgit.

I checked my still disconnected fenix chronos and the user settings/ weight field still displayed 80kg.

I then turned on Bluetooth on my fenix chronos and synced to my phone. Instantly:
the index scales recorded daily weight of 80.3kg was overwritten with 89kg on gcm. The weight value on fenix chronos user settings weight of 80kg was overwritten with 89kg.

In my opinion the watch syncing is what causes the bug to occur but it appears that it is gcm that is the source of the incorrect value that is overwriting everything.

Since you let us know that the issue has been escalated, there's been plenty of people joining this discussion reporting that they have the problems related to this. Also people doing the kind of testing that, on the face of it, demonstrate what the problems are. Please can you manage your customers' expectations and provide an update. In my case I have to decide whether to return the scale, which I had for three weeks before support recalled it, to Garmin via Amazon if, as expected, it doesn't integrate when it comes back. There are others in this thread who have only recently purchased the scale and found it to be no more smart than their old $20 bathroom scale. They'll need to know whether to cut their losses. And then there are the people who've had the scales for some time who have lost data and or confidence. So, please, provide an update with a timeline. If you are not authorized to provide such an update, please ask someone who is.

  • +1 I have the same issue.

At the end of the last year uploading an activity removed the additional metrics from the Index scale.

Since the 16th January all the additional metrics get removed instantly.

    Best regards
    Christian

I got an email from Garmin support (Norway), where they said that they are aware of the problem. They also said that since this issue is quite severe they are hoping for a fix this week or the next.

Finally some kind of good news, however I won't hold my breath...

Also it wouldn't hurt at all if Garmin actually had the decency to give us a proper update here on the forum. (HINT-HINT Garmin-Blake !!! )
  • After my last post a week ago i did a little try and error testing. I'm using Fenix 5X, Index scale, MFP and Garmin Fenis 5x
A.) With MFP connected the Garmin show kg, BMI, fat and water on the first screen of the mobile app, Delta shows a "0". Next page on the mobile app only kg and BMI.
On the webside only the weight is visible.
I did a little bikeride and synchronised with the Fenix 5X. Result disapearing data from the first scteen of the mobile app.

    B) MFP connection disabled. The mobile app shows all data even on the second screen fat, muscle etc. On the website are all data present.
I did a swimsession and synchronised with the Fenix 5X. All index scale given data lost on mibile app beside kg and BMI and on the website all data gone.

    C) MFP connection disabled. The mobile app shows all data even on the second screen. On the website are all data present.
I did a little bikeride and synchronised with the Garmin Edge 810. All index scale given data still present on mibile app and on the website.

Ok slr far so good. But what happend. All the missing data from yesterday are there again in the mobile app and on the website. But not fridays data measured under A.
Garmin, this was a free test. More to follow.
