Measurements diapearing from Garmin Connect

So here is what I am observing:

I weigh in on my Garmin Index every morning. If I check Garmin Connect shortly thereafter, it shows all six measurements - weight, body fat, BMI, % water, Muscle Mass, and Bone Mass. Then sometime during the day, all the measurements disappear except for Weight. I have checked Garmin Connect on my PC, Android Phone, and IPad and its the same on all of the, the reset of the measurements are gone.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Dan
  • I found that my account was linked to MyFitnessPAL somehow (even that I don't use it). I deactivate MFP for GC and the measurements are being keep in GC. So the issue is not either Garmin devices software or Garmin Index is MFP

I don't have a MFP account and double checked and DC is not connected to MFP. So the issue is with the device sync doing something.
  • Confirming: after several days of adding only weight manually from a generic non-smart scale, the delta (difference) is displayed in gcm only to disappear as soon as there is a sync from fenix 5 or the cloud. As previously stated, this with no connection to MFP or anything else other than Garmin’s [currently dysfunctional] ecosystem.
  • First the positive: I find my Garmin Fenix and Index to be really useful and great tools to monitor health and fitness.

In terms of syncing and scale integration it is very poorly implemented and Garmin do not seem to understand the number of their customers they are alienating by not acknowledging the issue or communicating any resolution actions.

I have formally logged this issue (as well as the one of the GC reporting the Index needs a firmware update even when it is on Version 3.0.0.0 already). It's interesting that the email acknowledgement of my bug submission provides no reference number to quote. There is a systemic failure in support/development processes if this is the case. Perhaps a follow-up from Garmin will include unique references but I'm not holding my breath. It's a shame that the system is so close to being really great but is let down by quality issues with software and a lack of communication when genuine issues are present and need to be resolved.

The fact that this thread is now into its 7th page (as well as the other similar threads) proves this is not a few isolated cases - it's widespread and annoying many customers. Garmin, PLEASE FIX THESE ISSUES.
  • Look at my video

    ..........

    Problem has been acknowledged....see post#65 (page 5)

  • Glad to hear they're looking into this.

I just came to the forum to see if others were having the same issue.
  • Yesterday I received Index Smart Scale and I immediately noticed this problem.
    I have:
    - Fenix 5 V7.60;
    - GCM iOS App V4.2.2.1

I was hoping to get all the data in one app ... for now I'm very disappointed with Garmin.
  • I have the same problem using Smartscale, Fenix 5x and Vivosport.
  • Garmin connect 4.2.2
    Fenix 5 7.60

    update 2
    I weighed myself
    after 2 hours
normal sincronization and deleted the data
    fenix overwrites the data

+1. I had no problems until 19.01.2018. This is the last day I have 7.1 SW on my activity. The watch updated seamlessly to 7.6, so my activity from 20.01.2018 is already on 7.60. Guess what: since 20.01 I have no additional weight data.
So I have the same problem since 7.60

My Wife has FR 235 and is using the same Index Scale - and guess what: no data lost!

PS. I am disconnected correctly from MFP since months, thus it is not the case.

  • This issue has been escalated and we are actively looking into the cause and a solution. Thank you for your patience.

I have the same problem. The problem is not MFP. Several friends are using the Fenix 5s in combinatoin with the Index scale. No problems at all. The 5X is the problem. If you set a alarm on the 5X it disappaers when you sync. The data on the GC overwrite the data in the watch. When i do a bike ride with de 5X and then sync with GC the date of provided by the index scale are lost.
My girlfriend uses also MFP in combination with GC and a 620. No problem at all. She is able to see all the data from the index scale. Garmin please fix. It is a very expensive scale if you only see your weight.
