Hellol!

Garmin Forerunner 935 increases the stress level against Vivoactive 3. I make the test 3 days.
Restart to factory settings, remove apps, send to service. No solution. Garmin Forerunner 935 does not work right.

Do you have the same problem? I'm looking for a solution to the problem... !? ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1312844.jpg ciq.forums.garmin.com/.../1312845.jpg

    Have to tried a reset?

Reset fixes this issue for couple of days, then values are high again.
  • Maybe 'cos you're getting stressed about not having 'accurate' guesstimated stress numbers :-)
  • Forget Garmin, you should consult a cardiologist then. Just due to the sheer physical existence of your 935 you don't have the legal right for a low stress level when sitting like a potato. Else, do a factory reset.

Factory reset done. Multiple times. Still as crap as it was. So my current HR is 48, but my stress level is 90.

I have a legal right to slate Garmin til the cows come home as the borked my device with their latest upgrade.

Don't really care about the stress level - I know how I feel and the fact that I can run 100 miles under 20 hours should be enough evidence that my 'rest' state is not stress level 90.
What I care about is the barometer not working properly after the latest upgrade!

We would encourage any user that is experiencing issues with the Stress Level (or elevation data) being inaccurate to reach out to our Support team (phone, email, chat). This will allow us to further investigate and collect specific information from the device.

As indicated previously FirstBeat made some updates to the Stress feature in order to provide a better level of accuracy. If the data is not accurate we will want to collect more information to investigate.

Garmin-Joey - I raised the issue of the all day stree results being poor over four months ago and you still haven't fixed it.

As for the elevation/barometer issue post 8.0 upgrade, I rised this via email with Garmin support and got absolutely no response.

I think, due to all the issues caused by version 8.0.0, that Garmin should be rolling it back, as for me, it fixed nothing and broke multiple issues. You only have to look at the forum and there are 6 or 7 different things that version 8.0.0 has broken on the 935, and just as many on the Fenix 5.

Well done Garmin, great effort. I think you should start a thread on the forums and start giving users daily updates as to when all these issues will be resolved.
  • I know this doesn’t help your problem. Just for some perspective mine seems to be working… I’m sitting down after coming home tired from work, my pulse is 52, and my stress level is 15 and says “rest”.
  • My stress scores on my 935 have always been erratic. When I first got it, my scores were all in the 60s and 70s, even when I was taking a nap. Then after some upgrade, they dropped to a reasonable level, sometimes. With 8.0 I haven't really noticed a difference, it bounces around so much. I wonder if it has something to do with how tight my watch is.

However, it did accurately record when I was having dental work done a couple of weeks ago. But perhaps the readings were just picking up my clenched fists.

Any way, I deleted the widget and now i"m not stressed.

I can run 100 miles under 20 hours should be enough evidence that my 'rest' state is not stress level 90.

Ya, well then you are right, no that can't be... After that your body can't be stressed.

So my current HR is 48, but my stress level is 90.

... but you are aware that, though there is a dependency, however there is a slight difference between "rest" and "stress" ...? Stress is HRV not HR.
Anyway, I see pattern here. People here weezing and puffing most complaining about high stressed values ...

The new update 3.40 do not help to stress level...
  • The stress guesstimate is not an instant indicator. It's guesstimated on the variation in inter-beat time of each heart beat. That is, a heart rate of 60bpm does not mean each beat is exactly 1 second apart; it varies. According to some research, the difference in variation can indicate fitness state and/or stress level. So, just because you are sitting down, relaxing, you may have imposed stress on your body through exercise or other lifestyle factors earlier. Thus it might take some time for your physiological stress to return to 'normal' levels; irrespective of how you might feel mentally.

    This is a useful read - http://www.sweetwaterhrv.com/documentation/stressandhrv.pdf

Bear in mind too, that trying to assess HRV from optical HR is not the best way to achieve a meaningful result, further muddying the outcome. The best way to assess HRV is by analysis of the electrical signals generated by each heart beat, ie, from a strap or other means of detecting the signal.
