You could certainly run for 20 mins and get a Power number. FTP on the watch is only for cycling. Without getting over complicated suggest seeing what numbers equate to your current training on different types of then can use those as guides
Thanks for the feedback. Hopefully ftp for running is incorporated in a future firmware update. In the mean time I'll continue to experiment with the connect iq power apps.
Just checked. Didn't know that this is being displayed (far right column). Yes, average lap power is there. BUT: it looks a little bit strange. I have identical average power on my last 5km of todays 16km run, the laps before vary a bit. Might be a coincidence, but not very probable. I had almost all directions (headwind, tailwind, sidewind) on these 5 kms and also one short hill (where I checked current power going up about 100w).
I dropped a running power datafield (average lap power) somewhere on a screen in my running app, took my running pod and went for a run. During the run I noticed some numbers on the screen but didn't watch closer because I want to see it in my data later on in garmin connect. There I cannot find anything. On the right side I see my 935 and my running pod as equipment but no custom datafield. In the graphs there is no power graph. Am I missing something? How to enable the power logging?
Hi, I have done everything in the instructions and I still can't get running power to work on my Fenix 5X. I am running firmware 7.0, I downloaded running power and combo running power and added both to my data screens. I am using the Garmin running dynamics foot pod and I wait for it to sync before beginning the workout. It is checked to include the power data in the .fit file. However, it simply reads 0 power for the entire activity every time. Can anyone tell me where to begin troubleshooting so that I can get running power to work? Thanks!
