Swimming Stroke Rate per interval?

Is it possible to get avg and max stroke rate per interval?

I see it in the swim summary on GC, but not on the intervals?

I'm trying to improve my stroke rate and wanted to try various things on 100m intervals and see what affect it had.

Thanks!

Greg
  • ...or you just do a very small amount of mental maths and garner a rough estimate that will be pretty close.
  • Well, in your initial question you asked about stroke per interval, not per minute ;-)

Nope, very clearly said stroke rate!

avg and max stroke rate per interval?
  • Ok, my bad! For me stroke rate is strokes per length/interval. I don't care about per minute on strokes, just on distance by time ;-)
  • From post #6 above
ie is how many strokes I take per minute for each specific interval.

You are less than clear with what you want. If it's number of strokes per length and number of strokes per interval, then, as we've said, you have that information. There's no need to put it in per minute equivalents. Just look to increase the number of strokes per length for the same time. You'll see your SWOLF increase unless you reduce your time. Seems to me you're trying to over complicate things.

Not at all, just wanting info per interval not just in the summary!

This hopefully explains what I am looking for and why it is important better than I can: http://www.swimsmooth.com/strokerate.html

If you look at the calculator, two things are needed, I am not being provided with one of the two inputs.

I need Strokes Per Length and Stroke Rate (strokes per minute, counting both arms) :

  • I think you were very clear - I don't see how anyone could misunderstand what you wrote. "Rate" generally means a value measured against time.
