Fair point, LOL. Most trail races I've done are a lot more.. bohemian than regular road races. Love them!

Just did my 1st run with the FR 935, coming from a Fenix 3.

Very happy with the tracking, did a run on Monday with the F3, then did the same run with the FR935 today (Wednesday)
I would say it is faily challenging course, as there a few areas under tree cover, a few under bridges and road ways.

I did, screw up at the 0.46 mark where I started running past the bridge and had to back track.
Worked out I did an extra 0.11 km
So comparing distance the FR935 and taking away the extra .11 km I ran with the FR 935 only a difference of 0.02 km, and the tracking looks to be a lot better on the FR 935.

I was hopeful after yesterday's run that things would work out but GPS stopped recording right around the 1:04:30 mark today. Really disappointed in the current generation of products

Does sound as if something is not right with your watch if this sort of thing happens regularly. I have done loads of runs and rides now with the 935 and not seen this once and it is not regularly reported here. Might be worth trying to get it replaced.

Normally I'd agree but I had this exact same issue with the 5X which makes me believe its a software issue with this generation. I talked with support yesterday and finally got them to agree that its an issue. They suggested I try using the trail run activity but no dice https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/1785056751 cuts out at 50:00. They also had me zip up the GARMIN folder from the watch and send it over. In the mean time my watch is updating to 4.10 as I write this. So hopefully that will fix this though I'm not holding my breath at this point

That's very odd if it keeps happening.
Is that 50:00 exactly or is that just a coincidence.
As Manuel implies if there was a general software issue lots of us would be seeing this but we aren't.
Are you running any CIQ things?

Nope, no CIQ stuff running and I made 0 modifications to the trail run profile before I started the activity this morning other than adding HR to the first screen and lap HR to the second.

Hopefully they can figure this out. I like all the bells and whistles of this watch but end of the day I'm really just looking for something to record my workouts and am giving some serious consideration to trading it in for a 235.

I got my FR935 almost 2 months ago and I must confessed I am both excited and very disappointed
Excited about all the new feature coming from a FR910XT ( CIQ, Bluetooth connection, VO2max estiomation ....)
Very disapointed by the GPS accuracy !!
This is definitely the worst GPS I had for the last 6-7 years whether it is phone or garmin watch ( well at least on this segment)

The reason why I am not so eager to replace my current device is that I have the feeling that this is just how it is ... the GPS chip is just not as good as what you used to put in your 910XT

My conclusion is : I am yet to see a garmin 910 not tracking well and I am yet to see a 935 , 735 or Fenix 3/5 or 235 being able to track this segment properly.

The segment is waterfront next to a 2 floors building so nothing bad for GPS reception and most of the time not a single cloud like yesterday and today
