Forerunner 935 GPS Accuracy/Performance

Let' get it started. Post your GPS results and comparisons.

FR935 vs F5s
FR935 vs FR920
FR935 vs FR23x

Thanks!
  • Looking forward to some first user results indeed!

Ideally some simultaneous recordings with one watch on each wrist.

If I may I would also suggest setting autolap to 1km to easily detect differences. That's how I found that the F5 was measuring 1km laps differently from my very reliable FR235 so I looked into it and found that they sometimes came short and sometimes long by measuring the laps on Google Earth. On the F5 it seems to be due to wobbling tracks due to poor handling of multipath (GPS signals that bounce off of buildings and that shouldn't be used to calculate the position).
  • I'm doing 4 x 1k sets this evening so will also record on 735XT and post up.
  • Must we :)

https://www.strava.com/activities/921185897 is with a 935 on left wrist on a road bike ride back from my LBS last night. Purrfect me thinks :)

I had a 735 on right wrist but not a got link for to hand at the moment but hardly worth posting a comparison of something that is fine.

Not done a run yet - hope to do so shortly.

BTW I note that no concern was noted on DC Rainkmaker review post either...

    that looks spot on :)

Good test (also for oHR) if it's on the road, on the track the distances are going to be poor anyway at +5% generally. Structured or manual lapping ? I know of a measured pancake flat straight line but it's a bit far so I do my 1k laps on the track and use my FR235 as a stopwatch with a memory ;-)

structured workout (using watch for the workout and timings etc) so I'll be turning auto lap off...
  • Makes sense, you can still compare by seeing when the 1k gets completed on each watch.

I wonder if I could run the same workout on both watches?? chances of starting them both at the same time are zero though???
  • Yes maybe you're better off lapping manually on the second watch when the second one "buzzes"

How come? You can probably do something like this:

even if you don't want to wear one of them on the underside of one of your wrists, to make the comparison as ‘fair’ as possible.
