Although this software is believed to be reliable, it has not yet been released for production and should be used at your own risk.

Changes made from version 6.20 to 6.36:

Fix a lockup that could occur when saving an activity.
Fixed an intermittent issue where the device would error out when trying to sync a music playlist using Wi-Fi
Various CIQ improvements.
Various stability improvements.

Installation Instructions

Connect your Forerunner 645M to your computer using the USB cable.
Download and unzip Forerunner645MBeta.zip. Click on the Beta folder. Place the GUPDATE.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder of your device's primary internal storage drive.
Disconnect your device from the computer, approve the update on the watch, and wait for the update to finish.
If you would like to revert to the last public release software, download and unzip Forerunner645MBeta.zip and click on the Public folder. Place the GUPDATE.GCD file in the \GARMIN folder of your device's primary internal storage drive. Disconnect the device. NOTE: If you revert to an older version of software, all of your settings will be reset to defaults.

I had done a hard reset with 6.20. it worked for a few days and then randomly the freezing occurred again

It seems my All Day Stress has raised a lot since I installed this beta version on my 645.
At first I thought it was just a little over training, but I’ve been resting more this week and still a get >20 stress as soon as I wake up, and during the day my stress value is almost 50% higher than usual.

Did Garmin change anything on this front?

You are right. Same here. My stress value significantly increased while my life situation did not change. It was 12 to 18, since 6.36 it is 28 to 30 on weekends. Strange.

Installing the beta did not affect my stress balance.

It's the watch's bugs that make your stress higher.

In my case, my 645 was operating normal by all measures. None of the issues with freezing or rapid battery consumption while I was on 6.20. There was definitely an uptick in battery burn, but tolerable.

Since installing the beta, the GPS is erratic. On my weekly 10 mile run that I've run every Saturday for last 10 years, I'm seeing 5min mile pace (8min mile run), extra mileage, and large crazy zigzags where it should be straight grid lines.

The watch also has completely locked up 3 times where the screen freezes on the clock watch face and never changes time. When I hard reset it, the battery is spent.

The battery burn rate is dramatic as well. Friday night I charged to 100%, hard reset the watch and went to bed. 6 hours of sleep later, I wake to find the battery at 60%.

I fully regret applying the beta and that's why I'm warning others to avoid it. I'm also convinced that there are multiple versions of the watch which is why the software is affecting users differently.

I've just downgraded from 6.20 to 4.20 and it works fine. Two erratic tracks from recent runs plus other known issues convinced me to do this and I'm happy (for now). Note that this is non-Music software.
