Good for you ! i would recommend disabling automatic software updates as v3.7 is breaking basic GPS functions. don't you read the forum?? anyway i assume Garmin stopped 3.7 role-out...

FW 3.7 was not the cause of the GPS problem. It was the last Express version which downloaded a corrupt EPO file. This affected several devices, not just the 645. Express has been updated and the problem is solved.

if the problem is solved, why there is no notification from Garmin in the Forums?? i would expect them to add a sticky thread to tell the users to update express and connect the watches to fix the issues... is it written in the express release notes or anywhere else? or do we need to guess all this and do reverse engineering? :-)

I may have missed it, but I don’t remember seeing Garmin say there was a problem with GPS at all.

The forum isn't a official Garmin Support source. Sometimes a Garmin rep will post a comment, but it's not a requirement. Anyway, the issue was affecting several Garmin devices and a rep posted a response on the 935 forum. If you conduct a thorough forum search you'll find several post in different threads stating that the new Express version corrected the problem.
For me everything now seems to work perfect again... I have disabled automatic software updates on the watch and Garmin Express automatic and continuous execution on the PC. and also "automatically download device updates" on Garmin express... Hoping to avoid future mistakes by Garmin effecting me for no reason again
The new version of GE seems to have fixed the long delay for the initial fix but I got around 10 of the GPS ready beeps coming to end of a run after work this evening. Also the watch had me running in the middle of a river as well for around a k also which looks like a new 'feature' :(
