Anyone have firmware 3.7 yet

Standard thread but has anyone had the update yet?

My phone sync said it was sending it to my watch but as yet it hasn't.

If you have got it, has it fixed anything?
  • GPS fix for me is taking 2-5 minutes in locations where it used to be instant. Is there a fix?

Being in Oz i have the APAC version and i still haven't seen the update yet. I wonder if Garmin has identified a major problem and are working to fix it before widening the rollout internationally (i.e. more major than just the standard issues users occasionally have between versions).

Probably blessing in disguise here. Hopefully they fix this GPS issue before roll out the APAC FW3.7 update. This seems major problem.

I am in OZ and I received the 3.7 update as soon as I saw it was 100% rolled out. I have the GPS issues including multiple GPS ready alerts while running and a longer than normal time to get a GPS fix at the start. Maybe they removed 3.7 from the servers once they realised it was a dud (even though they said it was 100% rolled out initially).
  • Someone mentioned checking the EPO status on the watch in case it was out of date, mine said current. Although that didn't help me much yesterday as I had to wait patiently for a few mins for it to get a gps fix before jogging to the start of a race.
  • Ive had my 645 music since release day, been running 3.7 since it came out, ive done about 4 races with it so far and about 10 activities with 3.7 firmware , ive not had a problem with it, GPS lock on is fine, takes a few seconds (GPS & Glonass)
  • Since 3.7 it takes 5-10 minutes for the watch to acquire GPS lock both in GPS and Glonass/ GPS modes. Constant GPS disconnects, when this did not occur before. Shows me as running I the sea... Not on the beach. Fenix 5 had no such problems.

What a mess this watch has been in 6 months owning it. First, Bluetooth disconnects and bsod, then blue screens of death and GPS disconnects, then bsod again, now GPS disconnects. And no DEEZER, still.

?????Very disappointed. As I live in the EU, I can in theory return this junk still in 6 months since purchase due to defects. Tomorrow is the day I'll do it. Tired of bad experience.
    ????
  • I'm on 3.7, and I haven't had any issues with either GPS track or Bluetooth connection (Android). In fact, Bluetooth is so fast and reliable I never bothered with connecting Wi-Fi.

I don't have the GPS lock issue, either. In fact, I drove to a race an hour away from my home on Saturday, and the GPS locked within a couple of seconds. Been listening to music just fine since launch, too, but then I guess I'm old-fashioned, and I would rather own my music than rent.

Yeah it seems that may be exactly what's happened. I've had the watch connected to both the phone and computer plenty of times and no update yet. I'm very happy to way, or just skip this version altogether.
  • I had the same problem (GPS fix took several minutes, disconnected during beginning of an activity) and I am also on FW v3.7

I could fix it via the following steps:
    - Make sure the Garmin Sync Software on your computer is *off / closed*
    - Connecting watch to computer
    - Use your explorer, search and delete the EPO file (this contains corrupt GPS data after the FW upgrade)
    - Disconnect your watch, put it next to a window and go into the activity mode (you dont need to start an activity)

My watch found a GPS fix within 3-5 sec again, as before.

Don't worry, your watch will create an new EPO File about 3-4 syncs later with your PC / phone.
  • Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give it a try and see what happens.
