Hi,
I just need to find new headphones for the 645.
Any experiences with the Garmin list or any other models?
Thanks, Jol
  • Cheap MPow's - $20 (https://www.amazon.com/Mpow-Bluetooth-Headphones-Waterproof-Cancelling/dp/B0753GRNQZ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1520730130&sr=8-1&keywords=mpow+flame&dpID=41JM2nFt2VL&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch) work well so far, need to test them outside though, but no dropouts at all indoors.

Follow-up from outdoors; running worked well, no drop outs. Walking however with jacket sleeve over watch and watch on LHS resulted in multiple dropouts. Might give Aftershokz a try.

My experience with the Plantronics Backbeat Fit is that I need the watch on my right wrist or I get frequent dropouts. Looking to the right caused it to drop every time. Could be that i keep my wrist tight to my chest when I run putting too much body between the watch and my right ear. Switched to my right wrist after 1.5 miles and didn't have a single drop, even while walking at the end of my run.
  • I've tried the Ankler SoundBuds Slim+ twice now. Once, while strength training at the gym and the other just now on a walk/jog. Performed flawlessly both times. I wear my 645 on my left wrist and there were zero dropouts except for a quick one when my hand went all the way behind my back. No dropouts either walking or jogging. The volume up and down controls also worked. I didn't try skip yet. Great earbuds for $30! I'm very happy.
  • Aftershokz Air works well indoors, will test outdoors tomorrow.
  • I have a pair of "cheap" no-name headphones (Phaiser BHS-730). They have the "smarts" on the right side. I'm coming from a Polar M600, and with the Polar, I needed to wear the watch on my right wrist to avoid drop outs for an outdoor run. I was able to run this morning with the 645 on my left wrist with no drop-outs.

BTW, I highly recommend these. They have out-lasted several pairs of name-brand headphones that I've ruined due to sweat / rain / etc.

  • Jabra sports coach seems to work well - on a short run (5kish) anyway. 100% reception when on right wrist. Occasional dropouts on left wrist, slightly more evident at start of run, generally pretty stable but repeatably patchy when dropping hands to waist (so keep running)

An update: wearing the 645 on my right wrist “fixes” the issue with the jaybird x2 headphones. Annoying, as I’ve always worn watches on my left wrist, but good to know that there’s a workaround if the stuttering gets too annoying.
  • Just want to add. For indoor, I can wear my watch left or right wrist with Boss Free Soundsport and no dropout. Only when running outside, does it need to be on right wrist.

Aukey latitude works fine (tried 645M on left wrist), but doesn't fit with my ears.

Anyone with Bose Soundsport Wireless running so far? I mean not the "Free" version tenfeet is mentioning.

Aftershokz Air work really well outdoors too. No dropouts running or walking at all with watch on LHS.
