Watch keeps restarting every half a hour / loosing activity tracking data (fw 4.3)

Hi,

I bought this watch yesterday and it came with fw 4.1 / 2.50 . First day was ok, but this morning I updated to fw 4.3 / 2.60 and it keeps restarting about every half an hour.

This means loosing all data which wasn't synced yet and clearing 4 hours hr graph. So from my today 1 hour walk I have nothing tracked. As one of my priority for this watch was activity tracking this is really dissapointing.

Tried to load factory settings and removed all IQ apps, but it doesn't seems to help. Anybody had same issue?

I knew from past that software development in garmin is bad, and its quite sad that nothing changed as it seems.
  • There has been an update of the GC app, maybe it fixed something. I didn't have any reboots during a 55 minute drive I just made. Let's hope it stays this way.

And there was a language update on the watch. Maybe is something related?

I turned my bluetooth back on the watch just to sync the data, but I will keep it on to check if it reboots. Let's hope not.

Let's hope everything will be fixed and we can focus on our training :)

EDITED: Rebooted 3 times during the workout. It's so frustrating. I use the data and graphs on my study to explain exercises and body reaction and this is driving me nuts.

    sigh..
  • Not as bad here, but this just happened once to me today. Felt the watch vibrate, took a look - Garmin logo, HR stats wiped, step count for today - wiped...
  • I can confirm that the updates didn't help.. Still rebooting at irregular intervals.
  • I am trying to prevent restarts as much as possible by turning off bluetooth (and loosing required notifications and calendar screent  ), but even when I need to sync data it sometimes happens. Its strange, that sometimes the steps remain in the watch and only hr stats are wiped, sometimes I loose also steps...

All we need is a downgrade to a working and stable FW. It's simple.

They should release the new FW as a BETA or testing. And maybe an option to NOT install it if won't fix anything that is broken.

I got my FR 235 for a month now but I can't say about capinoha, that have it for just a few days.

Same here. First crash today. Lost prob the last hours step data and and HR graph.

Watch made that reboot sound on its own and then I looked at the screen and it was asking if I want to clear all user data. Could have easily pressed yes by accident.

Great!!! Yet another issue with this watch. I love Garmin products...

I just got an email from the support with this procedure:

" Connect the watch to a computer. It will be read as a mass storage device.
Select the mass storage device and open Garmin folder inside the watch.
    Please delete the RemoteSW folder.
Remove GUpdate.rgn or GUpdate.gcd if they are present.
    Clear/empty trash bin.
    Safely remove device.
Reconnect back to Garmin Express if prompted for an update please select and update.
    "

Well, I did the procedure, but the watch didn't update again. Let's see if it does anything.

I tried it, it doesn't help against the reboots. Also didn't see an update notification.
