Since the garmin Edge sensor is exposed to the sun, is very imprecise. Please add compatibility with Garmin 520, 130, 1030, 820, 830 and 530 (all Edge devices).
I'm pretty sure that Garmin developers can do it
Thanks!

I tried to request this feature a few months ago but it got buried. We had the brief period when the EE did report temperature after the release of FW 4.0 which created my appetite for this information…
New firmware 4.30.
Garmin add support for Shimano sensors but no for Garmin sensors like Tempe, wrong way Garmin.
Yes I saw your topic but because it was closed I decided to open this new one. I'm software engineer and I don't know the internals limitations of the Edge devices, but from my (Uninformed) point of view…
Please Garmin, add the Tempe to the Edge explore.
I've just discovered that someone got fed up with waiting for Garmin and developed an IQ field app called CRTTempeField https://apps.garmin.com/en-US/apps/bedd1447-4816-40a9-83e1-0ed22c5bbcc3 for the Edges.
It's impressive. Install the app, set up the screen fields to include CRTTempeField and it will then automatically look for a Tempe sensor.
Thanks for pointing to this data field! It works very good and finally I don't need look on my watch for the temperature during the ride. I also tried the widget, but that doesn't connect to my Explore.
But it is a shame to Garmin who refuses to add this feature where there is no technical obstruction to do so.
For anyone interested in adding Garmin Tempe support to Edge. I've just had a chat with support and whenever they have plans for implementing it currently and got their usual reply about submitting it through ideas and that the more people submit their requests the better our chances in getting it working. So I suggest to give it a try, some of the bugs I submitted for my Vivosmart HR were actually corrected, so it's a chance to focus their attention on this. Of course having data field support is better than nothing but from what I read it's not that very reliable and I'm sure that it has some impact on the battery just like other data fields so it's always better to have a native support to the sensor in my opinion:

just did.... I hope it will help as to implement it must be super easy and should not take time. Just not understand why they have such limitation...
