Problems with 820 explore

I'm hoping someone can help. I bought the Edge 820 explore. It was connected to Garmin Express and said it needed to update. The update failed and now the touch screen doesn't work. I have tried reconnecting to Garmin Express, which is now showing 'add device', when I try to add it, I get to adding it and keep getting 'we are having trouble connecting to our servers, please try again'. I click try again and get the same thing. The device is pretty much useless.

Edge Explore 820 Touch Screen Problem Sorted / Fixed

Spoke to support and they sent the following email instructions. I followed the steps (replace the file on your device if challenged) and it rebooted fine and completed the Touch Screen Update

    ******************
    Plug device into computer
    Open device as a drive
    Open the Garmin Folder
    Remote Sw Folder
Unzip the 006B255000.gcd folder attached and drop the .gcd file into the remotesw folder
Disconnect the Edge from the computer and then this should go through a touchscreen update again.

I had the same problem with my Edge Explore 820 after trying to update to 4.10 - screen update failure and nothing worked - tried many things, no success, drove me crazy!! The solution below however fixed the problem - the touch screen update is re-initiated when replacing the 006B255000.gcd file in the RemoteSW folder. Works perfectly again - thanks a lot!!

  • TBT navigation when off track

I have the automatic routing deactivated in the navigation options. When I'm following a track and get off it, the device creates a route to make me come back to it. This is very annoying since it happens no matter the type of deviation and cannot be avoided. Has anybody found a solution for that? How can I avoid the system to create automatically a route to be followed when off track even if I don't want it? Thanks.
