Sensor Pairing and Connection Issues after 12.30

In version 12.30 i find my diferents sensor (vitesse, power and heart  frequence)

At the same time my old Edge800 finds and keeps the connection with the same sensors.

Everything was good before this new version.

  • My connection issues have been resolved! As almost everyone else, after updating for the new version 12.30 I lost connection to all my sensors or they kept on and off, so my edye 820 became useless. Was expecting garmin to show up with a solution but decided to try a solution. It was much simpler than I thought. I just did a factory reset as suggested in earlier posts and then followed the device’s installation menu, reconnected first to my phone and then to my Mac through Garmin Express. All is working smoothly again and with 12.30 version. Tried a 90 min indoor workout and not even a single dropout (powermeter, smart trainer and heart rate band all working as before).

This is how I did the factory reset, as suggested  by

    • Turn device off
    • Hold Lap/Reset and Start/Stop
    • Press and release the power button
    • Continue to hold only Lap/Reset and Start/Stop
    • Release Lap/Reset and Start/Stop when the Garmin Logo is cleared
  • Lo he probado y me ha funcionado. El hard reset soluciona las desconexiones de sensores.

Try a hard reset. This solved the issue in my 820.

Same issue with my garmin 820

  • Do the hard reset as has been suggested by others from Spain .It works, so Garmin get a fix out

  • I also completed the hard reset and updated the device with version 12.30 after this reset. Looks like it is working fine! Did not have time for a decent test yet.

As it was also working fine after I did a step back by downgrading to version 12.10. I wonder if just removing the sensor settinga and re-add them was also a solution....

  • After you switch off bluetooth on the Egde 820 with 12.3 f/w all sensors are staying connected after a 10 minute test. fingers cross also for a longer ride tomorrow. btw, i did not a hard reset.

I was reluctant to do a hard reset and saw on another thread that there maybe bluetooth connection issues between the 820 head unit and my phone (iPhone 7).  I disabled the phone connection on the 820  headset and the sensors all burst into life (HR, Speed and Cadence) All my sensors are Ant+. Rode for an hour on indoor dumb  rollers without any dropouts. I also made sure that the iPhone was not connected to any bluetooth devices while I rode.

At the end of the ride, I re-enabled 820 link to iPhone, and all sensors immediately dropped out. Disabled it again, and all sensors were found. Later I checked that the ride had also been uploaded to Garmin Connect and then thru' to Strava without any problems.

So to me, it appears to be a problem with the bluetooth phone connection. Might also just help Garmin with a solution

  • Did my first outdoor ride since updating to 12.30 (25 miles), and my sensor connections all worked perfectly to my HRM, SCD, and Vector 3 pedals. I've not reset my Edge since the update. Curious to know what determines whether this issue occurs or not from user to user.

  • Updated to 12.30. Till now everything works fine. One Garmin ANT+ Heart beat monitor, a speed and cadence ANT+ from different brand. Unit stays connected with Bluetooth too.

Try just to remove the sensors from the 820, and re-connect them (without doing a factory reset)
