Corrupt Fit file

My son did his first road race ever yesterday and was using an Edge 820. I believe that his 820 crashed right after the race and as a result his .fit file seems to be corrupt. Is there anyone that can repair it for me?

I probably wouldn't care so much about this if this wasn't his first race ever.

On a side note, his 820 seems to be crashing a lot so I suppose I'll be calling Garmin support.
  • Thanks Mike
    That works,

    Hi Mike,

Thanks so much for fixing that file, it has worked perfectly now. Any reason why the file might have broken in the first place? I've had thousands of activities load up normally.

    Cheers
    Henry
  • Hi Nick,

    Try this

    Mike,
This seems to have lost the last 30 mins or so of the ride - were there any clues of the cause?

    Hello,
i am currently unable to import a .fit file for a specific activity. I tried both wifi and bluetooth options but no way. Tried manual import also but got a generic error message. I have enclosed the file...can anybody help me please?

    hi Nick,

The original file is no longer available but with the info that Alan left about the end of the file being corrupted and missing the summary data then some of the ride data will have been included in the corruption.

    cheers

Have had my 820 for over 2 years now, and yesterday it went flaky mid-ride for the first time. Was at about Mile 17 of what should have been a 20 mile ride, looked down and realized it had stopped recording at 8.49 miles. Crap!! Finished the ride, powered off then back on (plenty of battery at end, 79%) and it showed all stats as expected and a 20.4 mile ride completed. Tried uploading via bluetooth and cable to my computer, Express says the file is corrupted. Thanks in advance for anybody that can fix this file - this is a great service!
