Corrupt Fit file

My son did his first road race ever yesterday and was using an Edge 820. I believe that his 820 crashed right after the race and as a result his .fit file seems to be corrupt. Is there anyone that can repair it for me?

I probably wouldn't care so much about this if this wasn't his first race ever.

On a side note, his 820 seems to be crashing a lot so I suppose I'll be calling Garmin support.

  • Hi there, I made a terrible mistake and didn't save today's activity. Recovered a .fit file with a data recovery program but it doesn't work. I was expecting that (reading on the internet they said it happens most of the times) but now I don't know what to do. I screwed it up but I hope you could help me. It was a very important activity and I'd like to try everything to recover it. thank you very much,
    Simone
I attached the .fit file hoping you could find a solution or suggest me one

    hi theduke2906,

Well over 75% of the data in your recovered file was corrupted beyond repair - give this file a try which contains what was salvageable.

    cheers

  • unfortunately, as you know I've lost pretty much everything. It's the first time it happens to me. Well, thank you very much anyway you did everything you could for me, I appreciate that,

  • Is some kind soul able to help me repair this file!? Would appreciate it. Not quite sure what happened. Stopped and saved ride as I usually do. Tried to upload the file from Garmin to Strava (as I usually do), but the file wouldn't register as transferred (even though Garmin indicated that it did). I tried to do it manually and discovered that the file was corrupted.

it's a short ride so not the end of the world, but curious to see if it can be repaired.
