Edge 820 Corrupt Fit file

Corrupt Fit file

My son did his first road race ever yesterday and was using an Edge 820. I believe that his 820 crashed right after the race and as a result his .fit file seems to be corrupt. Is there anyone that can repair it for me?

I probably wouldn't care so much about this if this wasn't his first race ever.

On a side note, his 820 seems to be crashing a lot so I suppose I'll be calling Garmin support.

Unzip, then import into Garmin Connect using the import data page

Repaired using Fit…

Can we remove this as a sticky?

lets NOT remove this as a sticky - it allows those of us who assist with fixing corrupt .fit files an easy place to find the requests, and it saves cluttering up the forums…

Attempt 2 at this file comes up with 4hrs15min and 118.42km worth of riding and hopefully more believeable power data after I removed a highly suspect 29000W spike from the file - note that there was a reasonable amount of corrupted data contained in the file.

Give this file a try.

Sorry Mike, still odd data. Never ridden the most this streets on saturday, wrong pace (Edge 820 shows 30,5 average after saving) , wrong kms (shows 129 after saving) and wrong height meters. At least very annoying if you were on speedy ride with no useful data.

hi LudoD,

I can only work with the data that is contained in the file. If that was a deleted file that was then recovered using software then I am not surprised you're not see what you expect - I don't often get a successful outcome because of the way the Edges seem to store the data.

hello guys, Can someone give me a bit of help with this file tqht looks corrupted? I have tried with keisewetter without luck....it should be so,ething around 13km, 3hours...this was a trail using the 820.

Hey I just experienced my first file corruption on my 820. I tried using the autofix tool site to no avail. I appreciate any help in recovering this file.

You've got approx 7mins of no GPS recorded at the start of your ride - give this file a try.

Hi, Edge 820 user here. I seemed to have accidentally discarded this ride right at the end but was able to recover it using a Disk recovery program from the device. It did not "finish" properly and will not upload to strava.

Any help would be much appreciated.

You had a reasonable amount of corrupt data in the file and you have lost the records between 4hr49min and 6hr01min of your ride.

Give this file a try.
