Firmware version 5.60 causing navigation issues

How can I stop my Edge 520 updating the firmware. It updated to version 5.60 last week and the first time I tried to use a course on it the device kept saying "off course" for the whole ride (in spite of the fact the route selected was displayed on the map view). I see this is a problem others have had too.

Failing that - can Garmin confirm when they are going to fix version 5.60?

I updated to 5.60 on my 520 Plus and today I was riding and kept getting "lost satellites" over and over and over again. Probably 30 times over a 10 miles MTB ride. On a trail I have ridden hundreds of times before with my 520 Plus with never a single issue.

When I import GPX files (which definitely contain elevation data) with 5.60, the resulting course has 0 elevation data. This did not happen before recent update. I rely heavily on elevation data so this is a bit of a bummer.
