“Off Course” the entire course

I just got an Edge 520 Plus. Last night I planned out my ride on the Garmin Fit site exactly as I wanted it and loaded it in to the device as the only course. I chose a course I knew as I wanted to test the device out, having had a miserable experience with the Wahoo Elemnt.

so this morning I selected the course and said start course. For the rest of the ride the device said I was “off course”. And yet I could even see on the map view that the trail I was on was rendered thicker on the map, suggesting I was indeed on the course.

Anyone have any suggestions before I just send this back and buy a cheap Android phone instead?

Same boat. Though it worked once, the first time I tried it. I updated it and now, Off Course the whole trip.

I have been using the Edge 520 for the past two years and never get a glitch while navigating. This week I update my Edge to V 5.60 and updated the maps and since that time I have the same error like you have.

I have deleted all the course and reload them and K have the same problem.

Today I ride the same course and still have the issue so in the middle of the ride, I ask my Edge to bring me back to the beginning of the ride and he did send me all the instructions to turn each time but when I was browsing the map it still indicate Off Course.

They probably introduce a new bug while fixing other issues...

I only have one final test to do is to try to update my Mac OS Garmin connect Sw and reload the maps into my GPS.

It looks like 5.40 was decent firmware but not sure if there is any way to revert.

I did a quick, cursory check and could not find anything. Seems like a 5.60 thing. Hopefully 5.61 is coming soon.

Thanks. I installed this on the device, which went fine, but now every time I try to use the Garmin Connect app on my iPhone to pair with it the app crashes. In the meantime I bought a Lezyne Mega C and although the UX is pretty fugly it just works so I think my patience with Garmin is rapidly running out.

Tried 5 times; iOS app crashed five times. It's going back.
