Garmin edge 520 - dropout of powermeter and heartrate

Hi,

I recently update the software of my edge 520 plus. Since then I frequently have a complete dropout of heartrate and powermeter-data while riding. In the beginning my garmin connects to both HRM and powermeter, but during the ride my garmin looses both of them at the same time. When I shut down my garmin and start it back up he reconnects to both HRM and powermeter, but after a while I have the same problem again.

Kind regards.

guess similar problems with the latest EDGE 820 update

Garmin is asking for examples here how-to-go-back-from-v12-30-to-v12-10

  • My 520 plus has done this twice in the past 2 weeks. Once was the power meter and then lost everything for a minute before they all came back.  Next time was everything except the speed sensor but it only last for several minutes before they came back.  It hasnt happened on my last 2 rides though.  Strange things going on with the latest updates.

I have exactly the same problem since update. Restoring default config worked ok during 3 or 4 days but then the same problem again.

I have this problem as well, especially when my laptop had s 2.4GHz mouse dongle connected. I could not get the powermeter, hrm or speed sensor to work. This has now happened 2-3 times, using my FR735xt without any problems.

Looking at the changelog there are improvements to the ANT+ functions.

I have had both the situation where the readings disappear and return but also where the never come back. It is very annoying.

  • Hi. I had sensor issues after updating software from 5.20 to 5.30. Now Garmin have just released version 5.40 which, if you look at the release notes, says that this software reverts your device back to 5.20 as there were sensor connectivity issues with release 5.30. I have updated my device to this latest software and will see if all is fixed when I next have ride. Give it a try, as Im sure like me everything was fine with 5.20, so in theory this should fix it. Good luck

  • I'm still having this problem running v5.50 (the latest as of today). I first noticed the problem this spring (not sure what software version I was on at the time) and haven't noticed any change since updating the software. Does anyone know of another solution? It doesn't happen on every ride, but it has been happening for several months now. I noticed that the one ride where I turned off Bluetooth, I didn't have any problems with the heart rate and power meter dropping out. Is this the only solution to the problem?
