Since the last update Ver 12.20.0.0 my 520 shows speed in km per hour but distance in miles. Settings have metic selected. Also happening on a mate's device too, anyone else?
Could those of you that are having this problem please check the configuration in Garmin Connect (GC).
In GC click on the watch icon (top right). Then select the device you wish to check. Then check the values for device settings and user settings.
GC is currently consider the master for these settings. There is not a two way sync back from the Edge. Making changes for those settings supported in GC on the Edge will get lost the next time the settings get pushed from GC.
It feels like something has changed the frequency that those values are getting pushed from GC, which is why we are seeing this issue. Before the settings only got pushed if you changed them. So after the first push if you changed the values on the Edge they were retained and you would not know that GC was the master. Now it appears that GC is re-sending the settings on a frequent basis.
When looking at the devices on GC are you seeing that they have pending transfers for the device settings waiting?
I have the same issue. Every time I sync it changes distance/speed on the 520 to statute. Although crazily speed stills displays as metric only the distance is changed. I had a look at my settings in GC as the above post and distance was kilometres under device settings. I cannot see anything on GC anywhere I have statute listed as default.

same GC is km but still in every restart i have the same issue
I also have the same problem with my edge 520. I am do not want to do a factory reset or delete files.I just sync with my android phone not the computer.
When syncing via the phone or WiFi the Edge is still communicating with Garmin Connect and so will download the device settings if there is a transfer pending.
