The animations of my 1030 make the device look even slower than it really is. The lcd is not quick enough to make them useful.
Is there a way to disable them completely?
Truth is many if not all of todays touchscreen devices originated in iphones way of doing things....
+Animations in ios have a purpose. They bypass loading times.
The animations on the 1030 however seem more of a gimmick as the data of the fields is shown in the animation itself. So the data is available but not shown instantly.
For me that adds precious time that occupy me while riding. I only want the info asap!
I would think that since the Garmin's CPU does not have much power in order to increase run time, that even without showing the screen slide away which you call animations, the desired screen would still take the same amount of time to display.It. I would think that when using the remote, the screens would change instantly but it shows the same screen sliding.
I tried to time the screen change and it is under one second. I guess since I'm getting older, that one second doesn't bother me but if I was younger and in a race it could be a issue.
