Option to disable Animations completely?

The animations of my 1030 make the device look even slower than it really is. The lcd is not quick enough to make them useful.

Is there a way to disable them completely?

  • What specific animations are you referring to?

  • I mean all animations on the device. They are sluggish and not helpful. Scrolling between stat pages could show the data without a interrupting animation. Scrolling down for the control panel takes longer because of the animation. They are everywhere and im not sure for what purpose... I want only the data as quickly as possible. Everything else makes the device seem slower than it really is.

  • I'm sorry but I still don't understand what you are referring to. I'm looking at the computer now and I don't see all the animations you speak of. The control panel has the sensor icons that flash to show connection status but these don't slow down the computer. I don't have any animations on the Stat pages. Perhaps you could post a screen shot of what you are referring to. Are you calling the graphic displays a animations which they are not.

  • I imagine he means the wiping motion of the screens while switching.
And - no, you can't turn that off.

  • I think you are correct but I don't see that as a animation. It could slow down the screen changes but I doubt by much. I would think that the screen is held in a cache.

  • Yep thats exactly what i mean. The swiping animation is sluggish and slow as the lcd is not able to keep up.

Id like to be able to deactivate it and have the info without delay when swiping.

  • if you think that 1030 is slow, then try an Wahoo Roam for comparation , and try to change between pages,

  • I understand what you want but I can't think of any touch screen device that does what you want. Ipads, Iphones and Android devices all handle screen changes like the 1030.  I use the Garmin remote and even with that the screens still scroll. There must be a technical reason for it.

  • You can totally disable the silly time-wasting screen animation candy in iOS and the device is better for it. I'm with original poster. If I could disable the sliding animation I would. You can also turn off animations in MacOS.

    iOS: Settings/Accessibility/Reduce Motion

    MacOS: System Preferences/Accessibility/Display/Reduce Motion

  • I tried the Reduce Motion setting on my Iphone and I can't see any difference. What am I missing?
