Installation Instructions

  1. Connect your Edge 1030 device to your computer using the micro-USB cable.
  2. Download and unzip Edge1030_1026Beta.zip and place the GUPDATE.gcd file in the \Garmin folder of your device's internal storage drive.
  3. Disconnect your device from the computer, approve the update on the Edge, and wait for the update to finish.
  4. If you would like to revert to the last public release software, follow the above steps but place the GUPDATE_1020.GCD file in the \Garmin folder. Rename the file to GUPDATE.GCD before disconnecting your device.
NOTE: If you revert to an older version of software, all of your settings will be reset to defaults.
  • You are referring to an old topic, where the fix is made 9 months ago.

I would suggest: Check date/time in Garmin, device you use to sync with and check it also in Garmin Connect.

Looking at the settings there is a field for Timezone

Picture is in Duth, but you will understand/find it in your account settings.

  • My account is set to the correct time zone.

Tbe topic is nine months old. But not fixed yet.

My garmin watch records activities on the correct date. Only the edge device records the activities one day in the future.

  • I loaded and rode a course for the first time today since installing the 10.26 beta. About an hour into the activity, I noticed that the data field which shows the eTap gears in use had stopped indicating the chainring and rear cog size - other fields such as speed, distance, etc were still recording OK - and a short while later the 1030 just powered itself off. I powered it back on, it asked if I wanted to continue the activity, which I did, and it calculated the course again and functioned correctly for the remaining couple of hours of the ride.

I also notice that this beta has the same problem as the previous one - whenever I connect it to the PC and run Garmin Express, GUPDATE.GCD for 10.20 gets copied to the 1030, and when I disconnect it from the PC, it boots up and asks me if I really want to install older software.

  • Has the 1030 been connected by Wifi or by phone? It will correct the time using either of those two connections.
