Fix is released with firmware 10.20.

Same here. I sent a e-mail to Garmin tech support.
their answer was meaningless.
connect your phone again

do soft restart

do hard restart

check is there are new updates

they said nothing about this problem…

There is a barometric sensor measuring the altitude in the 1030. I don't know about the 530, though, but GPS should not play a role.

21 days from V.10 , I dont understand how TDF devices are working , I assume that they don't have connected to any PC or phones

So I downgraded to 9.50 and elevation issue was gone. Elevation now works FINE but now my light sensor wont connect. Sensor connects just fine but it wont form a light network anymore.

Restored, tried again same issue.

FTS Bro something that was working fine. I wont ever again do another upgrade after Garmin fix this mess. ! Only reason I dont move to Wahoo is becasue I like Garmin Connect and I dont like that Wahoo does not have touch screen.

I've been having the same issues, my elevations are easily twice that they should be.

I had filed a bug report about the elevation being doubled in courses synced from Strava using the "star it and it syncs" method, as well.

It does not affect the Strava Courses ConnectIQ app.

Will this resolution also fix the strava courses syncing issue?

Depends on whether or not the bugged procedure they use to calculate elevation is shared between the two features.
