Route Calculation Error and Constant Recalculation

So my 1030 has updated to the latest maps

INTL Standard Basemap, NR
Garmin Cycle Map EU, North East, 2020.10
Garmin DEM Map EU 2017.20
Garmin Geocode Map EU 2020.10
Garmin Cycle Map EU, South West, 2020.10

However since this has been done I can no longer navigate my saved courses. When I select one, then press start, it calculates to 100% then says route calculation error then recalculates again. It keeps doing this constantly until I cancel the route. It has done this on two different courses.

i thought it might have something to do with courses built on Strava and loaded to my Garmin, but I created a new route from a previous activity within my 1030 and it still has the same problem.

Anybody have any idea what is going on, I used Garmin Express to do a reset/reload of the maps but the issue remains

Just to let you know that Garmin have secretly updated the maps, the new file name is now D6017040B.img. Connect to Garmin Express and re-install maps, see https://forums.garmin.com/sports-fitness/cycling…

Some proposals/questions...

what Firmware do you have (try beta 9.34)? Try to deactivate either Garmin Cycle Map EU North East or South West (depends on where you live).

What is your routing profile/avoidance? (in my roadbike profile "Avoidance Setup" only Unpaved Roads is checked) ==> perfect routing on minor roads

On my Edge 1030 route calculations is done twice. After first finished with 100% it starts again calculation, but second one will continue to 100%.

Currently on 9.10 which I believe is the most recent official release, Garmin Express shows no new updates available.

All my courses were working fine until the map update

I have routing mode set to"Road Cycling"and I avoid everything except for Major Highways

I plot the routes on Strava and I know the routes from driving them so I know they aren't toll roads, unpaved, ferries or narrow trails

The map update seems to have caused my problem. I am going to try and plot on on the Garmin Connnect website and see if that improves anything

So I downloaded the openfietsmaps as per the DC rainmaker instructions.

I put this on and disabled all the Garmin 2020.10 maps but I am still getting the same error.

I'm having the same issue as roadbiker65. Most, not all, of the preloaded routes are calculated twice (both with FW beta version 9.31 and with 9.34). The first time it goes to 100% and says route calculation error and recalculates the route from scratch. The 2nd time it finishes the route calculation without a problem and the edge starts navigation.

However, I'm using openfietsmap maps and deactivated the Garmin maps. I've not reported this one to the Beta team yet.

I have the same problem is with south west 2020 as when I disable it, it works
