As per above.

  • There are a million of these threads. This one has lot of info forums.garmin.com/.../bluetooth-pairing-issue

  • Make sure that you do a cold start after the v8 install. On the iPhone 8 in the Bluetooth device list forget  BT and BLE devices and start pairing as a regular BT device with the 1030 Connected Function -> Telephone.   BLE will no longer appear (finally). Follow instruction on 1030. I got 2x Edge 1030 in the Bluetooth connected device and removed one. During my first ride course direct changed. After reloading the course that worked fine. However after two hours the cadance and speed sensors were dead. Reconnecting the speed, made both relive. I think v8 is suffering from a memory management problem. Looking forward to v8.1

  • It's my understanding that the Iphone requires two bluetooth connections. Why did you delete the second? I have two bluetooth connections and everything works fine.

  • Don't remove one.

They are actually 2 different connections even if they currently show the same name. One is BT that is used for moving files the other is BLE used for general communication.

I suspect that the names will be changed in a future update to make it clear that they are 2 different connections.
