Di2 Dfly and repeated notifications

i just had a dfly unit installed and synced my di2 to my Garmin 1030. Now every 10-30 seconds my Garmin notifies me with a beep and a little pop up that I’m using shift profile S1. I assure you, I can remember what shift profile I’m in longer than 10 seconds and it doesn’t need to keep reminding me. My only solution was to un-enable the di2 pairing.

Anyone else have this issue and/or a solution?

thanks!

  • Didn't see any explaining/warning First update using my Ipad failed and messed up my whole Di2 system. I had to disconnect/connect the battery I think and hooked it up to my PC and thank god every compenent was recognized and could be configured.

Don't have an answer, but I am having the same issue, so feel your pain.  I have had my system for 5 months and it did not do this at first.  I am also having the "poor wireless connectivity" issue that you are when I use the e-tube phone app.  I did just get it to connect to the e-tube app and did the proper disconnect from the app to rule that out, so will let you know if that takes care of this issue.  I am also having what seems to be a battery drain issue and I wonder if its related to the D-Fly connection/shift mode notification.

  • I have the same issue. The problem is that one tries to connect two lousy and buggy software systems. D12 is great in shifting but its App is stone age and the bluetooth connection is iffy at best. the fact that Macs are not supported in the much more reliable PC wired connection is an other minus.

Me too - Edge 520. The Beep is driving me nuts. Can it be due to a poor ANT+ connection with the head unit? I dropped by transmitter into the seat tube (carbon frame) to hide it ....

I thought it was a poor ANT+ connection too, as I also have my D-Fly in the seat tube.  I disconnected the D-Fly and reconnected and everything is now working fine with that D-Fly-the Edge detects it but does not constantly refind it.  You may want to try that; however, I also have Campy EPS v3 on another bike and recently had a ride where it exhibited the same behavior of constantly detecting the Campy EPS and that transmitter sits right below my Edge, so I do not think any connection problem related to having the D-fly in the seat tube is the cause.  The fact that I have had it with both the D-Fly and Campy seems to point to an issue with the Edge.  Sorry that I do not have a definitive answer for you-try the disconnect/reconnect D-Fly if you can get to it.

Any solitions as I’m experiencing the same issue

  • I had the exact same issue. Every few miles I would get the beep on my 1030 and Shift Profile S2 (or S1 depending which mode I was in) would display on top of my unit. I also started to get Bad Wireless Connection when trying to connect the E-Tube app to the unit for adjustments. I had the  EW-WU111 wireless module installed in the seatpost of my Tarmac....I then removed it from there and relocated it under my handlebars very close to my Edge 1030 ....I haven't had any issues since doing this 5 months ago. SO it seems that the signal between the 1030 and the wireless unit wasn't strong enough when hid down in my seatpost and thats why you get the alert popping up when it 'refinds' it every time.

Same issue. I was at least able to find the "Tone" toggle in the Sensor menu so it does not beep, but the banner warning appears frequently. My EW-WU111 is located inches away from the Garmin.

  • Your Wireless Module is not getting a strong signal to the head unit. Try moving the module closer to the front of the bike.

  • Mine was in the seat tube also and was driving me nuts beeping - i moved the Dfly to under my stem and no more beeps and not more notifications.
